All new cards will see that message. The game has to be patched/updated to include newer cards and there hasn't been any kind of patch for years. (nor will there be) For the most part, it's fine to have an unrecognized card. It just means the game doesn't know how to suggest graphics settings for you which will be set to the highest anyways. A few people do run into issues with an unrecognized card and there is a solution but I don't think it necessary here. I can help through PM if you would still like to go through the steps to get it recognized.

Which patch are you on? What mods are you carrying over? If the mods are outdated, you're going to have to pull them out. You can try the 50/50 method pulling some out at a time and testing which mods are broken or we may be able to help if you post what you have.

The xcpt files are a result of the game crashing... they don't really say anything useful besides the game has crashed. These can be deleted.

Edit to add: It's very important to use vsync with this game. This locks frames to your monitors refresh rate.
Double check what yours is....

You should see your monitors refresh rate.

You can check FPS with the in-game cheat fps on. Small text will appear in the corner.

If you already tried control panel and it didn't work, try Nvidia Inspector.

Hi! Thanks for the reply! ^_^ And sorry for being late, I haven't done anything to fix it yet, I only opened my PC now. ^^;
About the graphic card, if there are no inconveniences in-game, then I'm fine with it not getting recognized. xD
I'm currently on patch 1.67 because I don't want to be tied to Origin. I installed the base game and expansions through the disks then patched using the Super Patcher. The mods I'm using are mainly from Nraas and I checked their patch numbers before installing. I did, however, copy and pasted some mods like body sliders that I was using previously on my laptop (patch 1.69) some 2 to 3 years ago to my current mod folder in this PC so...I'm going to check out again if they're the ones causing anything. Buuuut, um. This might sound nooby but I forgot that you need to manually install CC stuff like dresses so they would get installed inside the game and since I haven't been playing for a year or so, I forgot to do that so now that I think about it, the CCs causing crashing is really a low probability. ^^; Right now, I'm manually installing the CCs and the launcher is accepting them and they're showing up at the Downloads tab just fine but while the launcher is installing them, Windows is continually giving me the "Sims 3 has stopped working" message for every install. It's really annoying. Does my PC hate it or what? xD

About the fps rate, I can only set the maximum to 30 fps (probably because of my monitor size?) when I could set it to max 60 before at the original monitor size, but that size isn't good and is stretched so I changed it. Is 30 just fine? About the vertical sync, I did as the image you provided using the Nvidia control panel. Again, thanks for the help and I hope you can still help. T_T

On the NRaas mods, there are two combinations that will cause the game the crash on startup every time. This will also happen when Launcher installing stuff as the portion of the game that runs to do that also invokes the Mods file.

1 - You have the MC Progression add-on module in place, but are missing either the MasterController or the StoryProgression base mod. The add-on module acts as a bridge between the two base mods and will crash the game if both of them are not present.

2 - You have a mod in place that depends upon EA store content to be there, but it is missing or not loading up. Examples would be NRaas Cupcake (requires the store bakery set or at least the oven and display racks) and Ani's Business as Unusual Bistro mod (requires the store bistro).

Either of these possible?

It was number 1...I forgot that I still had SP and other Nraas mods that needed unzipping from my downloads folder. Thank you SO, SO MUCH for your help! I'm restarting my PC now and hope that this will fix the problem. ^_^

Hi, am back with the same problem: My Game keeps crashing, or closing to desktop without any warning. It was fine, for a while, before it did it again. Though I think it was because I was playing the Sims 3 longer than normal, either way, I have no clue what is causing it and could really use some help to stop it. My Config is below. I also do get script Errors from my laptop in my Sims 3 folder. Let me know if that is needed.
