Do you play with mods? If so, that means that you may have some conflicting TS3 mods. If it was TS2 or TS4 mods, your game would have crashed out to Windows by now. Right now your loading processes are trying to make heads and tails out of your mods that are telling each other conflicting code.

If you don't, then read through this https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/764212/sims-3-takes-12-to-15-minutes-to-load-games and learn about deleting cache files. You may have large cache files and if you haven't also cleared your FeaturedItems folder in your game folder, that may also be taking time during loading processes.

  • stuck loading screen is 99.9% of the time a bad mod/CC. very strange if you have no mods. have you looked in the mods/packages and mods/overrides folder to double check?

also anything in /currentgame folder, delete all that. there should only be stuff in there while the game is actually running. if there's been some kind of an error sometimes stuff can get stuck in there and the game will try to load it

also check saves for anything that says .bad at the end, delete them.

is it all your saves or just your last one? can you not go back to an earlier one?

what you could do is try moving the ENTIRE sims 3 folder out of documents, put it somewhere safe then boot the game, and put ONLY the saves folder back into the newly created sims 3 folder the game made, then try loading. if it loads then then you know it's something in library/dccache etc doing it (bad CC the launcher didn't remove properly when you took it out)

and yeah i agree with above posters, +1 for disabling memories. you can still have memories though, just click 'capture this moment' sparingly which manually gives you memories, instead of filling your save up with 5,000 random "memories"

I've tried all sorts, I took put the few cc I had recently put on, didnt work, i tried changing the .backup names, didnt work. So I've come to the conclusion I'll have to let my saves go.

i copied the whole folder to desktop that did work but it still took too long to load. And now its lagging (more than usual) ?? I'm so confused why is this happening now?

Do you play with Memories on? They clog up your save very quickly.

Open your Save file folder, and check the size of the .nhd file and TravelDB.package file.

You may need to clean your save. There are very good instructions on NRaas site about how to do this.

Have you tried opening the processor and see what your game is running at?
