Edit: Alright, I'll play Devil's advocate a little bit here. I first installed mods about a week and a half ago and it took me a good hour and a half. This was mostly due to my own misunderstanding of how to navigate my computer so I had to Google a bunch of stuff and I got distracted and started learning about how I could do things easier. My problem is, personally, that I love taking in new information so I often get distracted by things and have an information overload problem. I digress.
I did finally get the mods installed. The only difficulty was, as I said, learning the terms that were mentioned on the "How to Install" page at mod the sims. Is it hard? Not at ALL now that I know. But, I can't help feeling we're a bit biased because we're aware of how it's done. Hindsight bias, they call it. We can't really criticize other people for being lost because we have knowledge they don't. Now, I can criticize people for being, as you put it, lazy. I'd go so far as to say that some people are willingly stupid. The information is not hidden in deep, dark passageways. The internet is accessible to all here (I'm assuming since this is an online forum) and you can find all sorts of websites that will help you learn about your computer and the best way to work it.
I am by no means a computer person, but in a technologically charged world such as the one we live in, I can no longer afford to blindly bump into walls while being led by the hand of someone who understands the scary world of computers. I think it's people's duty to try and do some learnin' on this subject.
Phew, I said more than I thought I was going to say. There's my 2 cents worth
I love you for posting this. However, it's not mine nor anyone else's responsibility to make one understand how something they purchased works. And the information is out there but one has to be willing to learn. The problem is when people take their inability to learn out on others. It's always someone else's fault that they don't get it. Well good for you and I appreciate you editing your comment.
