The Cowboy and the Mermaid

Dwight and Lorelei enjoy their first breakfast together as husband and wife. Lorelei has just put aside some of the pamphlets showing all the beautiful places to visit on their honeymoon. "I'm so excited about our trip. It will be fun visiting all these places I've read about."
Dwight nods his head, "I'm happy that Rafe gave us an introduction to the Master at the martial arts Academy. We should be able to get a lesson or two while we are there. Rafe thought some of the moves and exercises might help strengthen my leg as well as make us both stronger if we continue to explore places.I called my doctor and he agrees, but cautions to only train for short periods at a time."

They finish packing and the taxi carries them to the airport. In no time at all it seems the pilot is announcing the planes arrival over Shang Simla. She encourages the passengers to check out the view from the airplane window.

A taxi takes them to the hostel where they will be staying. They check in and leave their luggage and head out to explore the town. Lorelei stops Dwight as they walk down the hill and snaps a romantic picture of the two of them with the beautiful background. They decide to rent a couple of bikes and ride into town.

First stop is the bookstore. Dwight and Lorelei both love reading so they want to check out what the local bookstore has to offer. They sit at one of the outdoor tables and show each other the books they purchased. Dwight bought a few local recipe and fishing books and Lorelei bought a few mystery stories and some historical books on ancient cultures.

Dwight goes into the relic shop and the owner gets hearts and starts flirting with him. Dwight shows him his wedding ring. "I'm taken and very much in love, take your hearts elsewhere!"

Dwight and Lorelei decide to go to the academy since it is so close by. They show their introductory letter from Rafe to the Master. The Master tells them he is glad to train any friends of his honorable friend Master Rafe.

Lorelei makes Dwight promise that he will stop if his leg, back or neck start aching. Dwight makes that promise. "I'm not going to let anything interfere with me being able to be close with you later today!" He winks at her and gives her a quick kiss before the instructors come out.

The Master starts them off on the training dummy to work on their reflexes and timing. They both work diligently, practicing the moves, anticipating which way the dummy will turn. Sometimes unsuccessfully! They improve with practice and earn their first belt. The Master has them change into the appropriate outfit for the rest of the session.

The two of them watch as the Master and his advanced student explain sparring techniques, defensive and offensive moves. They are then instructed to spar with each other. The Master and his student stand back to watch offering advice and encouragement.
