The Cowboy and the Mermaid

Lorelei and Dwight mostly keep to themselves. It was their honeymoon after all. They did spend some time in town as she showed him around the beautiful islands. She introduced him to some of her friends as they came in contact with them. Dwight could see how much she loved the islands and knew just how much she hurt leaving them when her parents died. She tells him, "my home is with you now, wherever the tides might takes us."

They also met a few of her mermaid friends who were happy to see her back in the waters of home, but a bit surprised at her choice of a mate. It was not unknown for merpeople to mate with humans, just unusual.

Triton King heard about Lorelei's visit and her marriage from Maya Ocean. He called Lorelei and Dwight to a meeting and the other mermaids Mia Azul, Maya and Salty Seaworth showed up to see how Triton King would behave. You never know if he is going to approve or disapprove of a mer and human joining. He spoke with Lorelei first and told her since her parents were gone he felt an obligation to meet Dwight and pass judgement. Lorelei nodded at the mer king respectfully, but she knew in her heart even if he does not pass good judgement on Dwight it will not affect her decision to stay with Dwight.
Dwight approaches the mer king respectfully and uses the signals that Lorelei taught him. The mer king acknowledges Dwight and asks many questions which Dwight answers honestly. Dwight has nothing to hide from the mer king and does not. His love for Lorelei shows and the mer king tells him he will pass good judgement and Dwight is welcomed to the mer kingdom.

Dwight moves the boat to another area of the waters closer to another dive spot that Lorelei wants him to see. He loves the sound the horn makes and pulls the cord frequently warning small craft they are coming through. When they arrive at the spot he finds Lorelei downstairs and quickly gets frisky with her.

Dwight practices his guitar while Lorelei works on her book. She has almost completed her book about the discovery of the underwater memorial. She will use some of the pictures she and Dwight took of their adventure as part of the book. She hopes to publish it and perhaps get it added to the local library and school.

They enjoy swimming and exploring in the new dive spot. A shark encircles one of the caves curious about the sounds it hears coming from the normally quiet cave.

Lorelei drives the boat to the next spot and I guess if you are not driving you might get seasick.
