Sims stretching is a sign of bad third party custom content installed or in your mods folder.
There should be a thread somewhere that covers bugs and glitches in Sims 3. It used to be easy to find but a year or so ago all of the bug threads for the Sims games prior to 4 were merged and have become next to impossible to find.
