He thinks so highly of Sadie but as soon as he disagrees with her, he storms off like she has no idea what she's talking about - as if she isn't an equal. His internal struggle is very emotional and heart-wrenching.

And yeah, Marrick completely adores Sadie, but he's not very open on sharing any of his feelings or worries with her, simply because he doesn't want her to leave him if he were to tell her everything. He's scared, but won't admit it to anyone.
