The Sims 3 Beautiful Open Worlds!
I found this video showing Timelapse of Sims 3 worlds, and I started thinking "How could anyone say Sims 4 isn't a stop backwards from this?". I surely hope that TS5 worlds are an improvement of this....

Love how at 1:07 you see a unicorn. And that you could wake up your sim and send them to that unicorn. I was looking around Dragon Valley once while my sims were sleeping, when I suddenly saw a spaceship landing somewhere. So I moved my camera there and indeed, an alien had left the ship and was walking around, apparently checking out this strange planet. My sims were sleeping and I was having fun ;)
