Drifter, I am in exactly the same situation as you. I contacted es and they said its probs got to do with windows 8 which ****** Mr off seing were pretty much bring punished for upgrading computers.. I too went on canyourunit and yeah said my comp is more than adequate but had the little question mark for os-so yeah all signs point to windows 8...
am curious; did the defections thing work for you?? I haven't tried yet cuz I'm so fed up waiting for sims to load just so it can crash..
oh and I also have the crash where it just goes to desktop, and I have to reclick the sims icon. Do u have this as well ??hope to hear from u.
