are these created as commercial or residential? If I place five on a lot and make it residential; how do other sims live here if they are not family? Say, they are renting it like an apartment or penthouse, shouldn't that make it commercial? If I place one of my sims in this park, will other sims in the game populate the other ones on this lot?

One way to do this more easily might be to place a bunch of 10x10 lots together on what used to be a much larger one. You could fit 36 tiny lots in the footprint of a former 60x60 lot, or you could just pick a random spot and start plunking them down. That way, you wouldn't have to fiddle with the settings or use mods to enforce whatever roles you're looking for. You could even place a junkyard and scummy pond among the trailers and decorate however you like.

The answer to the underlying question though is that without mod usage only one household can live on each residential lot no matter how the buildings upon it are arranged. There are two types of apartments in TS3. The LN kind with one usable residential space and darkened out NPC units for what would be considered "homeless" NPCs to hibernate in, and the Uni kind that forces the town's Roommate Service to send over up to 7 NPC Roommates that share the resident sims' living space. Neither one allows for multiple resident households on the same lot.Sims cannot live on a Commercial lot without a mod to allow for that, and again it would be one household per lot.

As @puzzlezaddict says, you can place small 10x10 lots around and place a community lot in between them to make a kind of a common area, where the "families" can congregate...typical layout for a trailer park. ~ex-realtor~ :D

In the CC worlds with trailer parks I've seen the creators use many tiny 10x20 to 20x30 lots clustered together. That might be hard to do through Edit Town.

I think that you can put lets say 3 trailers on one lot. then you can add lets day 8 sims, different families, Now they will all be on one lot, so then you take lets say family A and put them in a trailer, you then click on the door and lock it to that family only. and then do the same with family B and C. I do think that will work, Now in RFLongs Haunted Valley, she has 5 or six trailers on one lot and you can place different families in each trailer. So it can be done.

Most of the customers I deal with seem to function just fine without a brain, and theyre in it for the long haul ;)

@Goulsquash, just so long as they don't get the 'bright spark" to go tromping around in rattlesnake country with sandals, eh? :D Unlike where you are, we Lower Mainlanders don't have to worry about danger noodles with fangs and venom sacs. :D

In my nearly 2 decades of living up here I've never seen a true danger noodle, just regular old garden noodles.
