I have it set to on.And I also use Nvidia inspector to force it on as well and cap the frame rate.@igazor or @SimplyJen know quite a bit about getting it set up properly, they both helped me with mine.

The correct one to use, On vs. Adaptive, is the one that works best for you as can be seen by checking the actual frame rates delivered with the fps on cheat code in-game. I don't even have an Nvidia card, mine is AMD, so I have to use different toolsets to accomplish these things. Maybe @SimplyJen can explain the difference more fully.

What is compulsory is keeping the frame rate (fps) capped. This has changed as time has passed. Frame rates in excess of the refresh rate of your monitor are the equivalent of digital noise that your monitor will never be able to interpret and if they run into the hundreds or thousands they make the card work way too hard for nothing. They also lead to graphics glitches, screen tears, lag, crashes, and after a while can overheat and burn out your card on you.

I killed my last video card by not playing with VSync (and poor cooling but that's not what this thread is about). Don't waste hundreds of dollars like me.VSync only works in fullscreen by the way! If you want a cap of framerates in windowed mode, use a third party app like RivaTuner.

VSync only works in fullscreen by the way! If you want a cap of framerates in windowed mode, use a third party app like RivaTuner.

That settings option doesn't cap the frame rate. Most monitors are 60 Hz, so the setting there should be 60. If you have a monitor with a higher native refresh rate as some are, you may see additional choices.

I've just tried both settings in game - On and Adaptive, both keep the frame rate at a maximum of 60 fps. However, I noticed the camera is stuttering a lot more than usual? Is this normal?

Hmm, I don't have that issue.I'm not sure if that's normal or not.Mine actually runs a lot better with my capped FPS.Try capping it a little higher/lower and see?
