Tutorial - How to create a world using Real-World Height data

i just skimmed through this, going to read through it throughly now, i got photoshop on my pc and iv found some very interestion tools too, plus im just awful at creating mountains, i may try this out, see if i can get them to blend in with the rest of my world

i think its the converting it from 8bit-16bit that causes the fuzzy texture, is it possible to copy from that program into photoshop insted of saving,
