I should add that I didn't make much progress in the game today. I did have some trauma though. It all started with my dissatisfaction with Amethyst O'Halloran's makeup.
When she came home from delivering a sing-a-gram I decided to get her to look into the mirror and took her into CAS to fix her makeup. This meant I had to add a mirror to the game.
Then I played around with her makeup and finally worked out the problem was with her eye liner. I fixed her eye makeup and decided to try out the lipstick from Into the Future. This all took quite a while to get right then I took her out of CAS. Then I thought I'd check if her carreer hair had got stuck to her other outfits. I suspected it would have and I was right. So I took her back into CAS and couldn't find her original hair. I looked through every single hair - several times.
I did find some hair I didn't know I had. This is probably becuase I rarely look at hair. I'm not someone who has much interest in CAS. I pay the penalty when I make a mess of it like I did today. I really wanted her to keep her original hair. The only solution I could think of was to close without saving. Fortunately I had remembered to save before going into CAS so I wasn't going to lose any progress. But it was going to take a long time to close, clean caches, clean the Save file, launch Sims 3 and then reload the game.
Eventually I was back in the game and this time I changed Amethyst into her everyday outfit before taking her into CAS. I fixed her makeup fairly quickly as I'd already worked out how to fix it.
I also did a methodical search and did eventually find her original hair in CAS. It doesn't look like long hair and you can't see the plait. It just looks like short hair with a spikey crown type of thing around her head. It is a store hair.
Unfortunately I really wanted to use another hair I had come across during my earlier search. Since I couldn't use it on Amethyst, I was forced to make a new sim and now my household has 9 Sims in it. I think this new Sim will be fun though.
