University loading screen taking FOREVER to load! Help?

I had this problem before sims 3 University Life came out. I ended up lowering my game options to "low" and it really reduces the lag and loading times. It is kinda weird though, my sims 3 base game only would run perfectly smooth. I wish there was a magic wand to reduce the lag time without reducing graphics. The game still looks just fine. I mean I could just live with a slower game, but it was really starting to bug me. My computer is 2009. It is not that old haha.
