For the past few days I've been trying to send a sim to university and every time I send them off all seems fine, they drive off in the van and the loading screen comes on, the little bar gets more green but it stops when it's only got a tiny bit left and just stays like that. I left my game for two hours last night and it hadn't budged. It doesn't crash or anything it just stays there. I've tried removing all my mods and that doesn't make a difference and I've looked through (what feels like) tons of forum post trying to find out why it's doing it. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks :)

This game is a memory hog because TS3 continues to eat CPU when not active, but minimized..memory leak. Adding more EPs just makes it worse.Did you take out the Mod folder and delete your cache files?Also, I have a 3ghz dual processor and 4gbs of RAM, and and a HD video card with it's own 1 GB of dedicated RAM, and TS3 is now just as slow loading as my TS2 game with all EPs installed and loads of CC.I now can get up and vacuum for about five minutes or so. :roll: Just like in the good ole days.Seriously, you may need more RAM..I only have five EPs installed and only some Store content and this game is using more than one million KBs of memory..but if you are having to wait that long, try playing a new TS3 game, and see if it isn't something in your old saves and the current TS3 file.

This is not a RAM issue. Something else is going on. I am experiencing this on one of my Saves and I have PLENTY of RAM to run this game.-Have you moved anyone from college into your neighborhood?-How long has it been since your last Sim went to the University Hood?From another thread, this issue doesn't appear to be mod related but...-Do you have any mods?? If so, which ones?

I have all the EPs and SPs and 4.5gb of store content. My comp barely meets the minimum requirements, but the longest it's taken my comp to run the loading screen for UL was 20 minutes. I think there's a definite problem if it takes longer than 30 minutes.

Cinebar: I did take out the mod folder and delete the cache files, I have 8gb RAM and 1TB hard drive. I have noticed my game taking longer and longer to load with each new expansion and I have all of them to date so it takes a good 20 mins to get started up. I will try a new save game and see how that pans out.Keekee: I sent the sim I've been playing in SV to uni and this is the first time I've send anybody to university. The main bigs mods I have are overwatch and master controller plus a few from MTS, I've updated all of them and made sure they don't interfere. I agree I don't think it's related to mods as I am still having the same issue after removing the mods folder and disabling CC. GoddessHekate: 20 mins is a reasonable amount of time given all the EP's etc although it is a ball ache waiting even that long lol

-hugs her express cache-Before my fiance surprised with this express cache I found it would take quite a bit of time to load a world I was playing and university and my computer is:Windows 7 64 bitTwo 1 tb hard drives16 gb of ramNvidia gaming card with 1gb dedicated ram (forgot the exact name, but it is still in the top 20 best video gaming cards).Intel core i7And I still found myself waiting what seemed a long time (five to 10 minutes) since all my other games loading super fast (WoW, Game of Dwarves, Secret World, Guild Wars 1 and 2 are just a few examples..yes a gaming nerd I am).But when fiance put in Express Cache...and told me to load up sims 3 a few times ...I was astounded that my Sims 3 game loaded super fast. And I have almost everything in the Sims 3 store..almost.Edited because I forgot to add a stat to my list.

I am having the same issue! My Sim wants to go to University but he hasn't had his graduation ceremony from High School (though I'm not sure this is the problem) and when I try to send him to University the town just won't load! I'm getting really aggravated with it. The sim I started with went off fine and I had no issues but his son won't! :( Can anyone help me?! :cry:

I just wanted to post to say that I tried the tip about going to the edit town and it worked for me! Thank you so much for posting that!

I have the exact same issue, really annoying. I've restarted the game and I can go into edit mode in university land, and i made a few clubs. I cant go to uni however, and I've already sent one sim to university and ive moved the sim out ive tried to send. I will restart and try the gray circle things.

That's the problem, it's because of CC.

Well that happened to me too, if u have such RANDOM popups, make your computer do those. BUT I NEED HELP TOOO. :evil:

I was having this problem as well. Not just with University - in fact, it started a week or so back before I installed UL. Sometimes content and saves can become corrupt. I ended up having to rename the user files to get fresh ones. I lost my saved data because apparently that was what was corrupt (when I tried to put it back into the game, the problems would resume), but at least I can play now. If you google "sims 3 troubleshooting" you can find a site that will walk you through how to do that. I would put the link here, but I'm not sure if we're allowed?
