In one of my human saves, back when I played faster lives I made an independent living facility for my elderly sims. No one dies in my games! Well, if they do, they are revived. There were rooms big enough for couples and smaller rooms for singles. I based it on one of the local facilities that is really a nice place.
Because I use Nraas mods, I could over-stuff the household and have more than 8 sims living there. I didn't play them as I continued playing the other families. I could watch from afar and the families could visit with each other. I think I ended up with 11 sims in that household before that puter died. That save should be in my external drive as I had some warning my puter was going and I was able to move everything over. I also moved some of the kids out as they became adults, but they lived nearby and I was able to watch and make sure they were doing ok. Nraas mods make so many things possible with this game.
It was difficult at first breaking up the families since I get attached. At least I could still see them and with rotational play (again Nraas mods) I could play them if I wanted.
With my immortal families, I have connected worlds. (nraas, lol I promise I am not on their advertising payroll. They just make so much possible to really have a blast with Sims playing it like I want. I'm very controlling.) When I get a little bored with one family group, I can visit the other ones in another world. My sims have adventures and mysteries to solve and there is always something new to do. I've been playing that extended family since 2017. It is currently on hiatus though as I'm too caught up in my ghost story. The teen from the original family has only aged to YA and is a Mom to two children now.
