@Waterdragon I have the same problem with my sims autonomously trying to cook something new, except that most of them don't have any cooking skill and will inevitably end up burning some mac 'n' cheese. They also insist on buying ingredients, even though the fridge is always stocked with as many fruits and veggies as they could want. (I don't mind that as much, though, as the ca-ching is my cue to dive in and cancel the action.) I now have the habit of just going down the line and assigning each sim a plate of leftovers for breakfast as they're all asleep.
@JoAnne65 If I don't have an aspiring cook, like right now, I don't usually bother either—my current single sim eats cereal and ice cream and maybe a random veggie if he has one in his inventory. I bet he'd love a genie, but no showtime EP for him or me. (Also, he kind of needs the points for the Above Reproach LTR, like maybe now.) But it's a nice change of pace to not worry about having home-cooked meals at the ready for a large household, and it's a lot easier to take an apple on a daylong fishing trip.
