- I've made several Computer Whiz sims and all of them have the same result when I overclock. The computer breaks. xD I have even tried to get the sim's handiness skill to 10 before attempting the overclock interaction and still, nothing but failure.
- If you mean overclocking the computer, it means to speed up the processor and or Ram and or Video card depending on what you are overclocking.
The main thing to beware is that when overclocking a component it produces more heat, and more heat is bad in a computer hence if you overclock too much you need to add extra cooling to the computer, maybe upping to liquid cooling.
The other thing is that if you overclock too high then you risk crashing the computer when well... Just about doing anything if you overclock it too high.
If inexperienced in overclocking I suggest you read before hand, and have another computer available to you as first time overclockers do have a tendancy to make their computers so unstable that they can't even get them to run for more than a couple minutes.
It's not for everyone, in my mind, it's more for the people that can notice that overclocking their CPU by 12mhz has just produced an additional 2FPS in their latest and greatest video game that they just purchased.
I've got my video card overclocked as high as it will go and be stable and still run cool, and quite honestly I don't notice any extra smooth running in my games that they already were.
If you don't know what your doing, its best to leave it alone or set it back to what it was originally.
That's my opinion, if you don't agree that's okay, feel free to crank it up and see what happens. I don't think anything good will come from it with an inexperienced person trying to overclock but hey you may be a natural overclocker so to each their own. Kinuko wrote:

Don't worry, I actually found your response very informative. :) And I thought she was asking about real computers, too. - real computers or sims computers that was a very informative answer. I always wondered what it ment now I know.
- The ability to overclock a computer is gained via the Freelance career in programing track.
