Marlon was able to catch two angelfish from the park without bait. While he was fishing there, the pond froze over. I checked, and the pond at the cemetery was also frozen.
Fortunately for Marlon, it warmed up a couple of days later and was raining heavily. This melted the ice on the pond, and Marlon was able to catch some deathfish that night.
He was lucky at the beginning of summer. He had collected a lot of special seeds, and several of them were life fruit plants. He also got two money tree seeds early and planted a third (spawned from the first, I think) right before the frost hit.
He bought a new wicker trunk from Around the Sims 3 on the property and put two of each of the best life fruit and deathfish. This was then moved to the family inventory. He bought a second trunk to store the remaining inventory items, keeping only apples and pumpkins for eating. Probably overkill. 🤣
Marlon has been raking leaves and tutoring children, accumulating 21 hours of community service.
He is fishing in the ocean, hoping to catch fish of higher value. The shark and lobster are both estimated to be at least §40 Simoleons.
I'm having difficulty finding rocks, metals, and gems in Glenvale County. It's been quite a while since I've played there, and I've forgotten where the spawners are. It makes the challenge more difficult, but not impossible. The few places I found while searching around were picked clean at the time. He does a lot of dumpster diving instead.
Hopefully, he will accumulate §250,000 Simoleons by the end of Spring.

Great Job texansky ... And at least Marlon's luck is holding up ... 🏆
It might be overkill having multiple chests, but no harm no foul. As I have always said with the 112 Day Challenge, the rules are just there as guidelines and the object is to prepare your Sim having a little fun along the way.
In the cold months, saltwater fishing can still be profitable. Lobsters are going to be your best bet, because their locations are plentiful. If you manage to grow some onions, they are great for catching tuna, which makes great bait for lobsters (but you probably know all that). The value of your lobsters goes up fairly quick if you are using higher quality bait, so catching tuna at a higher quality can greatly increase the price your lobsters can bring.
Kathy is in her third week of Winter, and it has been frozen the whole time. She has a few life fruit plants that are mature and will be ready for harvest, but they are still dormant due to the weather. She put in a final 'money day' and will wrap up her current novel, but she is already going to break the money record that Chris Harper set ... So, she is just shutting down money production after that.
Instead of focusing on money, she is focusing on relationships (Charisma) and completing all her Community Service hours. For Community Service she is mainly upgrading public restrooms and electronics (Handiness), as well as tutoring students and some adults when the opportunities arise. Other than that, Kathy is mainly focusing on alternative skills like snowboarding, windsurfing, skating, darts, pool, club dancing, diving and bowling (she hasn't bowled a perfect game yet, but she has bowled a game over 250 points).
Kathy will probably do some painting and gardening when Spring arrives but not focusing on the money as much as the skills and getting a life fruit.
Good Luck to Marlon, Great Update ... Have A Lovely Day and Happy Simming ... 💖
