Hello Everyone,
Hope that you're all having a Fabulous Friday. It's a rainy day here in Atlantic Canada where most of the region is getting drenched by the remnants of Hurricane Melissa. After the dry summer we had, the rain is still needed though but I think we're getting close to enough. That's what the weather is like here, it goes from one extreme to the other as in either too hot or too cool, the ground dying of thirst or drowning and so on.
HotBlackSand & DivinylsFan Thank you for your comments and encouragement. The issues started when I put Chang & Honey's house and lot that was 30 X 30 in size on a 60X60 lot in Riverview that I had bulldozed before placing. The 'welcome' part of the launcher where you sign into was still black this morning but the other sections were still visible. Although I could get into Jarrod's and Margo's game saves last night, Chang's save still wouldn't load so I think that something went wrong in that one. With these issues still going on this morning, I decided just to do a complete reinstall and deleted the old save files.
Not sure if having all of the packs except for the Katy Perry one (which I no longer like) active at the same time ended up causing an issue, as well. That said, I think the best thing to do is to just use a limited number of EP's in each of my saves although the game packs all work well together. That said I should be able to continue with Jarrod's storyline but instead of continuing with Chang & Honey (we'll just say that they lived out their lives 'Happily Ever After' in Appaloosa Plains. I have a one of Chang's sisters, Chi (pronounced 'T') that I could start a story with. Will see how things work out, though. This time I would save house & lot to my bin and then to my studio in case something happens.
Anyways I know this is a Sims 3 thread but I managed to build and decorate part of the house for my former Sims 3 sim, Sherrie Funke. Although due to Sims 2 choosing the Sim's aspiration it's not the same but I tried using her traits and LTW from the info in my Sims 3 studio, I think she turned out alright. She she wanted to be a 'Creature Robot Breeder', I chose the 'Knowledge' part of aspiration category in CAS. Sherrie's hairstyle turned out to be close to the one she sports in my studio but with a haircut. I think her favorite color was red since that's the color scheme of her clothing so used that when choosing her Sims 2 outfits and decorating her house according to what that game offers in build/buy mode. So far, it's a two-story house in Verona but may add a 3rd floor in the future depending on family needs since I've never figured out how to add a basement in that game.
Here's an exterior photo of the back of Sherrie's house. Thought I took a front view picture but couldn't find it in the 'Storytelling' part of the Sims 2 folder. So much for sharing the picture though as I can longer find it in that game folder. Hopefully I can get something going again in Sims 3, though.
Have a great day and safe 'Spooky Day'.
Hey, you said Chang's world is Riverview. There was an issue with cc and store-bought content uninstalling itself because of the EA App, and Riverview is a downloaded world that didn't come with the base game or its expansions. They patched this issue but maybe you haven't got that patch or I don't know. I had the same thing happen to me with saves that were in Monte Vista, Lucky Palms, Riverview because the world my save was in, didn't exist.
To check if that is the issue, then when you launch Jarrod and Margo's game, which is still ok (is that one in Sunset Valley which came with the game?), then when you get to the lobby, where your family or lot portrait appears (and then you normally click on that to choose them and load that save), try clicking on "+" create a new game instead, and then when it gets you to choose a world to play it in, look at the drop-down menu to see if Riverview, or any other downloaded world, is listed. If its not listed, then that is what the problem is.
If that is the problem, then find the EA App launcher patch or click on the 'repair' or 'update' feature of the app, and then I'm not sure if you still have to re-download the items or just reinstall them. Try both. I haven't had to do it again since the patch.

Hello,
Thanks for the info. Chang & Honey were in Riverview and the world showed un installed worlds. Not sure if I got the patch but when I first started playing Sims 3 on my new laptop it did an automatic download before launching so that might have been the patch.
I repaired the game quite a few times when their game save wouldn't load. Since uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 3 and deleting the last game files, I was finally able to get signed into the launcher while adding my store bought items back in that were needed for Jarrod's game save and have gone back to using the packs I was originally using for his game which include: Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, University, Showtime, World Adventures along with the Outdoor Living, 70's, 80's & 90's, High End Loft, Master Suite, Movie Stuff, Fastlane & Town Life. It seems to be working good so far and Jarrod has had a good first Sim week back in Sunset Valley and has just adopted a son, whom I named, Jarvis and will introduce him in my next update.
I looked up the EA App launcher patch and the process looked kind of complicated. Do you have the link to the actual patch? In the meantime, if the issue is with the worlds that didn't come with the packs, I can just play with regular game ones for now or try a different Sim world in the future.
Planning to give Chang's sister, Chi who I had also saved to my studio a life of her own instead or if I decide to play Chang & Honey in the future, I may just put their house on the same sized lot that it was built on and use the original packs that are associated with it without all of them turned on that way without having Seasons active, I won't need to build them a barn. Ever since the early days of playing the game and all of the glitches and crashes that threw monkey wrenches into my early legacy stories, I try to share many of my Sim kids and/or teens to the studio so that the family story can continue even though I've gotten away from writing legacy stories and am just playing for for fun now.
As for Margo, I was able to get into her game a couple of days ago to save out her and her lot to the launcher but was not able to share them to my studio since I couldn't get the option to sign in on the launcher so I won't be able to continue playing her as she no longer exists.
Anyways hope you're having a wonderful weekend and have fun with your Sims.
