Happy Holidays Everyone!
graceymanors Enjoyed your most recent update and hope that things work out for the new owners of the lighthouse.
Hope you're all having a Merry Monday and Christmas!
Just stopping by with an update from Chi & Bahiti Crockett in Twinbrook where Chi was finally able to complete the MorcuCorp adventure series in Egypt. A few days later took her first trip to China to learn some special music techniques from the Special Merchant who is Zhang Hua this time around. Chi also helped Jiang Lu and his family by retrieving the special antique relic from the Halls of the Lost Army tomb for them. During her three day stay in China, Chi also purchased recipe books for stir-fry and egg rolls along with one on how to catch some Chinese fish for Bahiti in case she travels there some day even though she's not much of an adventurer due to her 'coward' trait. Chi made a few friends while she was in China, harvested some pomelos and cherries at the local garden and then visited the Scholar's Garden before her trip ended. Enjoy the rest of Chi's update below in photo/commentary style which mainly consist of Chi's trips to Egypt and China.
Although nothing special happened to Bahiti in this visit although she was finally able to find her fourth critter, a lizard who was lurking in the bullrushes near the rickety bridge near her home. Critters have been hard to spot in Twinbrook but Bahiti will soon be able to get the 'collection helper' with her happiness points so that should make things easier for her as she seeks to become a zoologist. Will have to wait and see how things work out between Bahiti and her romantic interest, Notzo since there is quite and age difference between them. Bahiti hopes to be able to continue their romantic relationship after graduation and find time to hang out with him more between now and then.
Shortly after arriving in Egypt on her most recent trip there, Chi headed back to the Pyramid of the Sky to finish searching for the Relic of Life. After finding the relic along with some other treasures including harvesting some life fruit, photographing a money tree and adding to her ancient coin collection, Chi spent the night sleeping in her tent there. Before heading delivering the relic to Farouk the next day, Chi explored the rest of the hidden rooms the next morning and got roughed up by a mummy while looking inside a sarcophagus but thankfully he let her go and decided not to come out. Chi also found enough of King's Sarcophagus pieces to reconstruct two of them back home. I had prevent her from trying to sleep in the 'cursed' black one before selling it but she was able to keep the second one which turned out to be a gold one. There were also enough pieces of a pushable statue to put one together so she and Bahiti should be able to get pictures of each other pushing it for their photo collections. She also pieced together a dive well which she put among some of the bullrushes that are in the backyard of her home.
In these next few photos, Bahiti is searching for the Relic of Eternity inside the Great Pyramid.
Chi completing a tomb challenge by clearing her 10th rubble pile.
Chi digging through the digsite inside the hidden room at the back of the room where she found the keystone she needed to access the core area of the Great Pyramid after spending the night in her tent in the tomb. Guess her brother, Chang took all the good stuff (so-to-speak) since it seemed like it was mostly cheap relics in the pile this time although I guess it all adds up as she reached 5000 simoleons worth of relics found overall in her adventures thus far. Guess I forgot get a picture of the mummies where she found the Relic of Eternity but Chi had a much easier time of getting rid of them than Chang had as she only had to step on the floor switch a couple of time before both of them had walked into the flame traps.
Before her trip in Egypt ended, Chi found time to sketch her good friend, Mena Lufti who was really happy with the drawing that Chi gave her. Mena is posing above while her sister, Aisha has her nose stuck a book.
This is the black King's sarcophasus that Chi reconstructed. Legend says that those who sleep in these ones, wake up with a curse. Chi started to sleep in it but I managed to get her out of it in time to get rid of it in 'buy mode'. The next sarcophagus that Chi was able to reconstruct was a normal gold one which she placed next to her garage but hasn't slept in it, yet.
Shortly after returning from Egypt, one of Bahiti's snakes passed away and both she and her mother mourned for the poor critter before cleaning the terrarium.
The downstairs hobby room is starting to take shape with nectar making corner and a few relic display & nectar shelves. The room combines shades of both Bahiti's & Chi's favorite colors: (Ink Black 212122) for Bahiti and (Pastel Aqua D5F6FB) for Chi. A martial arts training dummy and block breaker have been added since Chi returned from China.
Here are a couple of pictures of Chi searching for the ancient relic during her first trip to China.
Chi's 10 point dive into the dive well for HotBlackSand
Instead of completely remodeling the Base Camp kitchen, Chi decided to donate the nice fridge, stove and dishwasher that she had been given for being a celebrity. Chi also replaced the camp's old trash compactor. Chi's fellow explorers enjoyed the waffles and mushroom omelet she cooked for them each morning for breakfast.
After harvesting some pomelos & cherries, Chi read a book before she finished her trip to China by visiting the Scholar's Garden before returning home to Twinbrook.
Now that I have my new Sims 4 game set up and it seems to be working alright now, I'm probably going to be playing that game during the week but plan to continue playing Sims 3 on the weekends. Plan to visit with Chang & Honey this coming weekend so hope to have an update from them next week.
Hope that you all have a fun and relaxing holiday season and a Happy New Year from the Munson and both Crockett families!
In other notes, I shared a new randomly created household to my Sims 3 studio that I created last evening to add an new family to Twinbrook since the game seems to have forgotten to generate new households now that most of the original family children and teens are now all grown up.
Until we meet again,

Yeessss SilverJanSims ... Chi absolutely nailed that dive.
Completely remodeling the Base Camp is not really necessary, especially if you don't spend a lot of time there. It's still nice to drop a few things in that will make everything run smoother. I see that Chi and Bahiti are just moving along in their adventures and taking advantage of a lot that is available.
Have you decided what nectars you are going to make yet? I know a few good recipes, and how to rotate the recipes and stock to keep the prices and quality of the nectar high. But that's only if you want to use nectar to supplement their income. Your Sims can make good nectar that they can enjoy, earn lots of Lifetime Reward Points drinking, but that doesn't require the same degree of management that making nectar for profit does.
Hope Your Holidays Are Going Well ... And Happy Simming ... 💖

I haven't played The Sims 3 in ages.
I downloaded just the base game today, but I am on an entirely different computer set up. My monitor is 5120x1440, but I have the game at an ultrawide 21:9 ratio. It looks good but the UI is tiny. That's going to give me serious eye-strain. There is a UI fix on Modthesims, but it looks a bit involved and I am wondering if I should bother with this rabbit hole of getting the Sims 3 into shape, or sticking with The Sims 4. 😛

Hey ck213 ... I run my Sims 3 at 1920x1080 resolution (16:9 ratio) and you can change your resolutions in Options. I also cannot give you any advice regarding Sims 4, because I have never owned it, and never will. 😆
I have a serious gaming rig and have tried pushing a higher resolution/ratio, but it starts to affect the gameplay. I think it is because Sims 3 is an older game, and when you have certain EP's (like Seasons and Pets) running, I am not sure if the game can effectively push the graphics no matter what your rig can handle, but I am no tech whiz either.
Good luck with getting your game set where you want it and hope you can get back into Sims 3 ... Looking forward to whatever you want to share, and it's great seeing you around here.
Happy Simming ... 💖
