Well I hope the new forum isn't going to look anything like that AHQ forum. There's just something about its appearance that doesn't inspire posting or sticking around.. it looks way to clunky for lack of a better word. There's just to much stuff on the page on top and on the sides.. if anything that design looks more outdated than the one on this forum... and apparently I've had an account there since 2013 for some reason, though I cannot remember actually signing up there, but I must have signed up to something for the account to be there...
A decent forum layout doesn't need anything more than some logo/headline on top, a box for subforums/threads, a simple column on the left for usernames/avatars and that's it.. simple is best. Like this one... I see nothing wrong with this forum, and no need to change. This whole thing looks kind of pointless to me... so whatever comes next better be good for it to be worth it. ;)
