Hello all. I've been having an unexpectedly traumatic time over the past few days and it's all related to technology.
Yesterday I coudln't get onto the internet. After wasting over 2 hours trying to connect I called my internet provider to see if they could fix it. After a quick look at my profile they told me I had changed my internet provider and my account had been disconnected. I knew my son had changed jobs and his new employer gave him a modem but I didn't know it meant I would be kicked off the internet. My son was confused too but eventually worked out he could use his new modem to connect and he connected me as well but most of the day had gone by then. One consequence is I've lost my email address. Since I'd already known my email address was going away due to my internet provider giving up on providing emails I had already changed my email address to EA so I haven't lost my account here. I'm just not receiving any emails from that email address any more. I still have access to my old emails as they are to be transferred across to a new company that just does emails but I have to try to find out how to contact them to see what's happening with my old address.
It turns out my son's new employer had set up an internet connection for him and there can be only one internet connection for any one physical address and to get his connection working they shut down mine. So I'm now using his connection. I was hoping it's be somewhat faster but so far I haven't noticed any difference. I'll see how it goes when I try to load my next video.
After I settled down a little I started work on my Perfect Genetics video. That software, which I purchased recently, has a few bugs. It stopped playing back my voice so my narration becomes silent at some point. I've discovered I can move the voice track up to another audio track and it can still be heard. That's how I managed to get narration into the last Perfect Genetics video. Another little trick this software has is it stops recording the narration. So I can chat away and then when I click the button to check what I've just said I get nothing to check. So I have to reboot the computer and reload everything which takes a really long time. After all of the drama of the earlier part of the day I just gave up. All I achieved for the video yesterday was to move the voice I had already recorded up to the Audio2 track so I could hear it. I previously tested in my previous video with this problem, that saving it as an MP4 file has none of my narration in it if I leave it in the voice channel.
So today I've decided I'll try to find out how to contact the new email provider tomorrow and today I'll work on the video. I'm just about to load up the game and the video software and my spreadsheet and get to work on it. Hopefully I'll make some progress today.
