Hey everyone. :) I've been playing Sunset Valley (along with the W mod) and I just made some CRAZY things happen yesterday and today with the Langerak Family. Hee hee ;) Well, I thought I would pick on this family for the fun of it. They seemed to have some dysfunction going on. Iliana (the mom) is a workaholic, Dustin (the dad) is lazy but loves family (he was in the criminal career when I started playing them. Not a good suit for his personality so I made him quit. He now has a part-time job at the bookstore). Their daughter Kaylynn seems to take care of everything while her older brother Parker, rebels and pays more attention to wooing girls than anything else. And to add craziness to the family, Iliana's sister Zelda Mae needed a place to live so, in she went. That is the original story of this family. Now for what I did to them. Lol! ;) Iliana didn't like how much of a slob Dustin is and he in turn didn't like how much of a workaholic she is. And little did Iliana know that her husband and sister were...doing a lot of romantic things in secret while she was at work. ;) Well, for a while she didn't know but then she was able to catch on. In anger she turned to her secret crush from work (Thornton Wolff) and begin having romantic relations with him. Meanwhile the kids are not exactly sure what has been going on...and Dustin and Zelda Mae had a risky woo hoo one night. Zelda got pregnant days later. At this time Dustin decided he had enough with Iliana and divorced her. Iliana then moved in with Thornton. Later, minutes before Zelda went into labor, Dustin proposed to her. The kids were pretty happy about it, they never saw much of their mother anyway. (Funny, this new baby would be their half-brother AND cousin...weird. ;) ) A baby boy was born and they named him Link (sorry, I couldn't help myself ;) ). Dustin and Zelda go off on a honeymoon and leave Parker and Kaylynn to care for the baby and the home while they are gone. (Seriously?) Well, Dustin asks the girl he's had a crush on for a while to Prom (River McIrish) and they go together and end up falling so hard for each other they become boyfriend and girlfriend. The next day, with the parents still gone, Parker is DYING to see River again and goes over to her house. They get frisky and...I'm pretty sure River is pregnant. Lol! And that's where I left my game for today. Had to get back to reality. :) I love how I can screw up sims lives or make them do things I would NEVER DO!!! It's so much fun! ;)
So what happened in your game today? Can we keep this thread going for a while? :)
MAJOR UPDATE (July 23rd, 2024): ^I can't believe I asked that and then 10 years later here we are. š Oh what a beautiful ride it has been. š
Anyway, due to the fact that this thread is thousands of pages long with hundreds of thousands of comments, you will for sure want to click on the drop down box below, off to the right a little, and choose "Newest" to see the newest posts on this amazing thread or you will be clicking the "More" button for all of eternity! š¤£ And yeeeeah you don't want to be doing that. š¬
Also, due to the migration to the new EA forum here, 95% of the pictures shared throughout the years in each post will not show up...so if you're wondering where all the images went, they unfortunately disappeared into the internet void. (Also those who posted via Photobucket before big changes were made on that site, lost photos years ago). Anyway, just a friendly FYI. š
But yeah, let's see how much longer we can keep this thread going y'all! š And please - cause I am still here and plan to stay here for as long as I can - do share with me...What happened in your Sims 3 game today? š
I don't remember the names of these two French townies, but their interaction at the relic store made me laugh. The first looked so earnestly happy to see the second. the second was rolling his eyes as if saying "Oh no, not him again!"
Hey my friends. š Are y'all still with me on here? š It's gotten much too quiet over here.....
But I do understand everyone. It's been a hot mess around here...and frustrating to say the least. ((((Hugs))))
I can assure y'all that the folks from EA are definitely hearing our feedback and requests for this forum to be less buggy and a more user friendly environment. And they are doing the best they can on their end to implement it. ā A lot of the requested changes require adding more features to the forum which unfortunately takes more time to do than we all realize. So while it might seem like nothing is happening, it is. It's just a matter of time. šµ Tiiiiiiime, why you punish me? š¶š ^Sorry y'all know me and my musical tourettes. š Anyhoo, trust me on this, ok? š If you really can't handle the way the forum is right now - which I completely understand š - then make it a point to come back here in the months to come and discover how much nicer this place will be for us all. šš» I always wanna keep in touch with every one of you lovely people. š¤ So please come back.
And now without futher adieu, it's time for me to share a few pictures of some of my gameplay from this past week.
I've been playing around in the Christmas Village world to prepare it for my Christmas story this year and there's a few fun things I've discovered. š
I never would've thought to use sand piles to illustrate piles of snow (recolored) from drifts, from shoveled sidewalks and plowed roads, clumps of snow that's fallen off roofs, etc. So freaking clever! ā Kudos to you Rflong7 ! šš» Check out how much more realistic it makes the wintry world look and feel:
I even took it a step further and added snow piles on top of some of the roofs:
I'm ALL about realism y'all! šš»
While I was decorating up a community lot I noticed Santa and his reindeer drawn sleigh riding by, frozen in time for a bit as I worked on the lot. š (Almost like they were stopped at a stoplight. Lol!) It put such a bright smile on my face. š
I might've captured him and Mrs. Claus getting cozy in the snow under the stars earlier... šš
And here's Declan in LIVE mode. š„°
^So handsome. š
And lastly, I thought I would try my hand at creating Declan on the new InZOI character creation demo that came out on Steam the other day. šš» (I hope this is ok to post... š¬ If not, please let me know. It's all in good fun. š ) Here he is!
Not too shabby right? š Hot stuff! š
Well that's it from me for now my friends. Hope you're all having a great day and keep the posts coming. š
For someone that has only seen snow once in her life, the recoloured sand piles look pretty dang convincing š
I've just been trying out the inZOI demo and it's great! It just needs a bigger colour wheel and a few more options to tweak the faces and it will be perfect. I think I will need to somehow upgrade or buy a new pc for when the full game comes out.
Hi hi!! Back again with another slightly delayed (yesterday's) Evergreen post! Also THRILLED to see this week we got a new subforum for tech issues and lots of tags for Sims 3 forums!
Andromeda and her sisters take a trip to the mysterious town of Moonlight Falls to learn more about how they can achieve Andromeda's obligation - to offer homes to non-human communities. Given their family history, it might not be all they learn about...
These aren't specifically today, but here's some pics from my recent games.
Glitched horse I was playing a rags to riches type file but.....Charlie was in the sun too long and spontaneously combusted. At least she got to be a trouble maker before she died.
I did try to play just Kupo, but special services came to take him a minute after.
My adventuring sim Augusta has had a very successful first visit to China. I started a separate thread for chronicling her adventures, because it feels selfish to clog this thread with too many posts and pictures when it's so difficult to navigate. I will still post here, but moderately!
Also, I have just downloaded from Steam the free character creation demo for the upcoming life sim game inZOI, which looks stunning. I can't wait to try it!
Update: sadly, my system isn't strong enough to play the inZOI demo. Ah, well, back to adventuring in the Sims 3 then!
Hi everyone! I try to pop in here as best I can but when you've had a frantic week the last thing you want to do is contend with all this glitchy madness. Anywho, I hope you're all doing marvelously and perhaps you might like to join me in celebrating the fact that...
It's a new generation! We have begun the Supernatural generation of this legacy challenge and with it one of the twistiest and turniest parts of the story yet, but first let's take a trip back in time to remember how it all started...
A lesson in how we got here is told by our new heir and Caretaker, Andromeda Evergreen, before she introduces herself and her sisters at the very beginning of her story.
I've started playing the reboot of my first Sims 3 gameplay - Augusta the Adventurer's life in Isla Paradiso.
Augusta starts life as a YA with no skills. After buying a little houseboat, basic furniture and an easel for her future artist career, she went to the library and learned the charisma skill.
After learning the skill, she used Charming introduction on the townies in the library.
Afterwards, I wanted her to learn the athletic skill by swimming in the ocean... but then I remembered you can't actually do that! (Swimming can only raise the skill level if a sim already has it.) Never mind, she is enjoying herself! I decided to take a look at the two sailboats in the background.
The ghost of Mrs Dregg was sailing in one of them. In the other one was Aidan, Augusta's future love interest! I wasn't going to send Augusta to follow him, because I decided I they will have to meet by accident, not orchestrated by me. But I followed him with the camera because I was curious where he was going.
I think he was going to Rebecca's Bar - but I had to save and quit after taking this screenshot, because something came up.
It made me think - I've played Sims 4 Island Living a lot and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and will probably play it again. in the Sulani world the sea is always full of sailboats sailing around and it looks wonderful, but the sims in the sailboats are doing just that - sailing around. It is just a fun activity, not a method of transport. In Isla Paradiso the amount of boats is smaller, but every single one contains a Sim who is going from point A to point B, and if you follow them you will see where they are going to. in an ideal Sim game both of these things would be true!
Been trying all day to post, it keeps wanting me to edit my other posts.
Elizabeth pushed open the door to her cottage, the familiar creak of the hinges welcoming her home. The scent of wood shavings and oil greeted her as she stepped inside, the cozy warmth of the hearth casting a soft glow across the room. The walls were lined with shelves cluttered with tools, gears, and half-finished contraptions, the fruits of her fatherās tireless labor.
At the center of it all, hunched over his workbench, was Maurice, her father. His wild, graying hair stuck out in all directions, and his spectacles perched precariously on the end of his nose as he carefully adjusted a tiny gear within his latest invention. He muttered to himself as he worked, completely absorbed in the delicate task at hand.
āPapa, Iām home,ā Elizabeth called softly, not wanting to startle him.
Maurice looked up, a wide smile spreading across his face as he saw her. āAh, my dear Elizabeth!ā he exclaimed, setting down his tools and wiping his hands on a rag. āHow was your trip into town? Did you find anything interesting at the bookshop?ā
Elizabeth smiled as she set her new book down on the table. āI did, Papa. I found a wonderful new story about a faraway kingdom and a daring adventure. I canāt wait to start reading it.ā
Maurice chuckled, his eyes twinkling with affection. āYou and your books. I donāt know where you find the time to read them all. But Iām glad they bring you so much joy.ā He paused, then glanced at her with a bit more concern. āDid you have any trouble in town? No one bothered you, I hope?ā
Elizabeth hesitated for a moment before shaking her head. āNo more than usual,ā she replied lightly. āJust the usual comments from some of the townsfolk. And Gastonā¦ well, he was being Gaston.ā
Mauriceās brow furrowed at the mention of Gaston. āThat Gastonāalways pestering you, isnāt he? I wish heād leave you be. You deserve better than that brute.ā
Elizabeth laughed softly, trying to ease her fatherās worries. āI can handle Gaston, Papa. Besides, I donāt think heāll bother me for a while. I made it quite clear I wasnāt interested.ā
Maurice nodded, though his expression remained concerned. He knew his daughter was strong-willed and independent, but he couldnāt help but worry about her. After a moment, he brightened again and gestured to his workbench. āCome, come, let me show you what Iāve been working on! I think Iāve finally got it right this time.ā
Elizabeth stepped closer, her curiosity piqued. Her fatherās inventions were always fascinating, even if they didnāt always work as intended. He pointed to a small, clockwork device that resembled a tiny automaton, with gears and springs intricately arranged within its body.
āItās a mechanical woodcutter,ā Maurice explained with enthusiasm. āFor the lumberjacks in the forest. Itās designed to chop logs with precision and speed, and it should save them hours of hard labor! Iāve been working on the mechanism all morning, and I think itās almost ready for a test run.ā
Elizabethās eyes widened with admiration. āThatās incredible, Papa! Youāre always coming up with such clever ideas.ā
Maurice beamed at her praise, but then his expression softened, and he looked at her with a mixture of pride and concern. āElizabeth, youāve always supported me, even when no one else did. I know the townsfolk think Iām a bitā¦ well, eccentric. But it never seems to bother you. Youāve always been different from the others, and Iāve always thought that was a good thing.ā
Elizabeth felt a pang in her chest at his words, and she lowered her gaze, fidgeting with the edge of her apron. āPapa,ā she began hesitantly, ādo youā¦ do you think Iām odd?ā
Mauriceās smile faded, and he stepped closer to her, gently lifting her chin so that she would look at him. āOdd? My dear, why would you think such a thing?ā
Elizabeth shrugged, her voice barely above a whisper. āItās what people say, Papa. They think Iām strange because I love to read, because Iām not like the other girls in town. They all want to get married and start families, but Iā¦ I just want something more. I donāt know what, but I know itās out there.ā
Mauriceās heart ached for his daughter, seeing the doubt in her eyes. He took her hands in his, his voice tender and reassuring. āElizabeth, you are the most wonderful, extraordinary girl in the world. You have a heart full of dreams, and a mind that is curious and eager to learn. That doesnāt make you oddāit makes you special. And those who donāt see that, well, theyāre the ones missing out, not you.ā
Elizabethās eyes filled with tears, but she smiled, touched by her fatherās words. āThank you, Papa. You always know how to make me feel better.ā
Maurice hugged her tightly, his love for her evident in the warmth of his embrace. āYou never have to doubt yourself, Elizabeth. You are perfect just as you are. And whatever it is youāre searching for, I know youāll find it one day. Until then, keep dreaming, keep reading, and keep being you.ā
Elizabeth hugged him back, feeling a sense of comfort and reassurance that only her father could provide. As they pulled away, she glanced at his invention and smiled. āNow, letās see this mechanical woodcutter in action, shall we?ā
Maurice grinned, his excitement returning. āOf course! Letās give it a try!ā
Together, they moved to the workbench, both eager to see the fruits of Mauriceās labor. As they worked side by side, the doubts that had plagued Elizabethās mind began to fade, replaced by the certainty that, no matter what anyone else thought, she was exactly where she was meant to be.
As the evening shadows lengthened and the warm glow of the setting sun filtered through the windows of the cottage, Elizabeth and Maurice finished their work in the workshop. The mechanical woodcutter had shown promise, and the satisfaction of a dayās labor well done filled the air.
With the tasks of the day behind them, the two retreated into the cozy warmth of the main room, the fire crackling softly in the hearth. The room was filled with the comforting scents of wood and earth, mingling with the rich aroma of the simple stew Maurice had prepared for dinner. After their meal, as was their nightly tradition, Maurice reached for his guitar, a well-worn instrument that had seen many years of love and music.
He settled into his favorite armchair, strumming a few soft chords, the familiar melody instantly filling the room with a sense of peace. Elizabeth, seated nearby with her book resting on her lap, looked up and smiled, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.
āShall we, Papa?ā she asked, her voice gentle but eager.
Maurice nodded, returning her smile. āOf course, my dear. Letās make some music.ā
As he began to play, the melody of āNo Matter Whatā filled the air, each note resonating with the deep bond between father and daughter. The gentle strumming of the guitar was accompanied by the soft hum of Elizabethās voice as she began to sing the opening verse.
Elizabeth:No matter what they say, You make me proud, I love the funny way You stand out from the crowd.
Maurice joined in, his voice blending with hers in perfect harmony, the love they shared evident in every word.
Maurice:It's my intention My invention Shows the world out there one day Just what we've got.
Both:No matter what...
Mauriceās fingers moved deftly over the strings, and Elizabeth continued, her voice growing stronger, filled with conviction.
Maurice:Now some would say all fathers Just exaggerate.
Maurice looked at her with affection, his voice tender as he responded.
Elizabeth:That every daughter's great?
Maurice:You are!
Maurice:And every daughter tends To say her father's tops!
Elizabeth smiled at him, her heart full as they sang together, their voices weaving a tapestry of love and support.
Both:She pulls out all the stops To praise him... And quite rightly!
Elizabethās voice took on a playful note as she sang the next lines, teasing but filled with warmth.
Maurice:No matter what the pain, We've come this far, I pray that you remain Exactly as you are.
Mauriceās eyes shone with tears, though he continued to sing with unwavering pride and love.
Maurice:This really is a case of Father knowing best.
Both:And daughter too!
Maurice smiled at Elizabeth, his heart full.
Maurice:No matter what the test...
Both:We'll face the worst, And we'll do our best! We'll be together now and forever, And Iāll see you through!
As the final chords of the song faded into the night, Maurice set the guitar aside and reached out to take Elizabethās hand. āYou have the voice of an angel, my dear,ā he said softly.
āAnd you have the heart of one, Papa,ā Elizabeth replied, her eyes glistening with unshed tears of happiness.
Hi hi! The world took me on a bit of a tailspin this past weekend with a broken down car, suddenly hyperfixating and shooting the whole of Evergreen Gen VIII, and becoming an auntie! So apologies for the delay but here is Sunday's Evergreen update and the penultimate chapter of Evergreen Gen VII! Chapter Nineteen: Into the Unknown (and yes every time I read that I start singing like I'm in Frozen II)
In this chapter, the triplets take full advantage of their parents being off on a honeymoon. When they return, it's time for prom, graduation prep and for Winnie to teach Andromeda all about her destiny as the next Caretaker and, most importantly, the Cursebreaker.
