What is the difference between YA and Adults in the Sims 3?

I play both sims 3 and 4 but the Sims 4 has obvious lines in the adult stage that you can see on the sims. However the Sims 3, I can't really see anything in particular and just looks like a young adult Sim. Can someone tell me the specific cosmetics between these lifestages?

    I know the "age details". What I'm saying is that what if the Simn doesn't have any? Like Nick Alto. I get confused with him.

    they got them wrinkles 'n mid-life crisis (if you have generations installed)
