I just started using a more realistic epic lifespan setting! Since there are 7 days in a season we can say that there are 28 sim days in a year. I looked at the lifespan that nraas recommended reflecting real life ages. DaysBabys: 28Toddler: 84Child: 224Teen: 168YA: 336Adult: 980Elder: 560Total: 2380This will allow me to really take my time and not rush into things. I really hate rushing into relationships and not building them up naturally. I'm also using mods that make the $/hour for jobs way more realistic, so this also makes the game harder. Then we have more realistic university prices, Boarding school prices, and university grant sizes. They also can't buy ingredients from the fridge so they have to go the store. I love love LOVE all of this because I want my sims to have a struggle! I hate that it was so easy to get to lvl 10 of a skill. so yeah! What are y'alls lifespan settings?

I have the principle 1 year = 4 days, and all the seasons are 4 days each, so it's the same season for a whole year. That way children, teens etc. can experience several seasons, but the life of my sims isn't unbearably long. I can deal with young adults beign YA for long, but not so much for toddlers and children and I want things to seem 'right' so I wouldn't just make the toddler stage shorter randomly because the years wouldn't nicely equal anymore. If that makes sense.So, right now:Baby: 2 days (half a year: toddlers still need to learn how to walk and don't do so right on their birthday, and most people learn to walk when they're around 1 years old)Toddler: 18 (4,5: 0,5 years to 5)Child: 28Teen: 24Young adult: 88 (18 - 40)Adult: 80Elder: 30, it seems. I use five sim days to correspond to one real life year, with a 390 day lifespan (78 years). I also don't like toddlers being so helpless right up until they're school aged, so I cut the toddler stage short, added the difference to the child stage, and treat the child like a preschooler, using NRaas Story Progression's careers module to homeschool them until they reach the equivalent of 6 years old.Baby: 2 daysToddler: 18 daysChild: 40 daysTeen: 30 daysYoung Adult: 110 daysAdult: 140 daysElder: 50Since elders almost always live beyond their life expectancy, I set the elder stage to the minimum age I want them to be when they die.

I use mccommand and added a week to each normal lifespan amount with more for teens and ya. I use 28 day seasons though to space out holidays more

Seasons don't have to be seven (7) days. You can lower that to three (3). Or, of course, extend it.I just play one day equals one year of life. So, babies get two days as I can't adjust it any lower than that and 24 months seems the right transition to toddler to me. Then, toddlers are really only "toddlers" for a couple years, but they can't start regular school here until six or seven. So, I give them five (5)days, which is plenty of time to get trained in everything and have all the books read to them. Grade school lasts Kindergarten through sixth grade, so that's seven days as a child. And, I only give my teens seven days as well (13-19 is seven years). I like the way all the life states work out to an even week (if you combine infant and toddler years together). I round the other life states in even weeks too. Current life is at 77 in my game, with the option for healthy living and luck adding more time in the twilight years. We all play so very differently and have our own ideas of what is realistic, don't we?!

I love having my kids experience each season, multiple times, and 7 days seems like enough time to go to the festivals and rack up some tickets!

I used to have more days when we started being able to adjust the lifaspan, but then i got fed up so I have been playing with this settings for the last 2 years I would say.

adult 40
elder 38

Total is 160, since average lifespan in real life is 80 days I pretended 2 sim days 1 year.

But since I played this game so much, I feel i need to make the lifespan shorter to not get bored. So when I will be able to play again, I am gonna change it for this:

infant 2
toddler 6
child 12
teen 12
ya 30
adult 30
elder 28

total 120 days

1 day =1 month in my game. I got a mod that makes pregnancy last 9 days. However I think 3 days season is a bit too short, so seasons last 6 days, and a full year of all 4 seasons= 2 sims year. Babies are babies for 12 days, then they are 1. Toddler for 48, making them 5. Children are kinda boring in the sims 3 as they can hardly do anything compared to The Sims 2, so they age up to teens when they are 11, a total of 72 days. And then teens for 84 days, at wich point they are 18. Then they are YA until age 40. I was thinking adult until 67(retirement age here), and elder roughly until 84. But people are more agile now then before, so I added a few years ekstra as adults and cut down on the elder stage instead. In Total they live around 1000 days unless something else kills them before old age.
