why cant i get my sim pregnant with a fairy and a vampire!!???

i read somewhere the even though the baby cant be mixed theres a 50 50 chances that the baby is born either a fairy or a vampire but everytime i click try for baby days pass and she doesn get pregnant :/ pls help.....fairy(female), vampire(male)
