Witch Singed After Finishing Homework?

Every time my teen witch, Nikolas, does his homework, it goes from 0 to 100 percent instantly and he sometimes ends up singed. Is he using magic to cheat on his homework? Has anyone else had this happ...

I guess doing homework really leaves him... burned out? *awkward silence*

Anyway... I've not played that much with teen witches, so I'll have to watch out for that magic homework option...
