Would a glitched household be glitched on the exchange?

I have been having issues and had a test upload of a household with some of the Sims in the portrait being blacked out (one was actually pink) which might be down to CC but I am not sure as most of the CC I have used has never caused me problems before.

The save file has also had a few issues. Save Errors have popped up which is unusual in Roaring Heights as I can manage playing for hours on end. I have had a few crashes and the CLA states that I used up memory and once not patched. Since getting my PC back I was yet to use the super patcher so ran that again and now up to 1.69 and also used the 4GB patch.

Other glitches I have noticed was related to going into build/buy and everything was blank. I have gone back through some saves and managed to upload Sims again without any issues with the portrait. I will move all Sims into a new save.

The four households are on my exchange. The 'Friends' '2020' '2019' and 'Heart breakers'

  • Sorry, but I'm having more than a little trouble following this.

If you run the SuperPatcher on a 1.69/Origin controlled game, the game install will break. The SuperPatcher is meant for 1.67 retail disc installs that are not Origin controlled and for the Mac version of the game.

There is no "4 GB patch" needed for TS3, not since EA made the game Large Address Aware (LAA) with Patch 1.17 alongside of Late Night in late 2010. Although redundant, that's probably harmless though.

"Since getting your PC back"...some kind of repair job was performed on it? What are its specs and if vertical sync or some other means to cap the fps rates for the game was in place, might it now not be -- I mean, what kind of frame rates are you actually getting in-game as can be seen by using the fps on cheat code?

    Edit:
I realize I haven't actually answered the original question in the subject line but that's because I have no idea. Will have to leave that for other players to test, I guess, but I wouldn't be in a big hurry to load flawed households up to the Exchange myself.

What name are you using for the old Sims 3 site/exchange? I was trying to find your studio to take a look and came up empty. If by "blacked out" you mean the sim looked black, that is probably a missing skin issue. The pink is most likely the same thing, although I haven't personally seen pink. If that's not what you meant, the rest of this won't be relevant.

The point at which I did see the issue (a black sim) was when I downloaded one and obviously didn't have the right skin in my game (and it was a very long time ago, when I wasn't as careful about checking what I was downloading). I don't really know what it means if it shows up that way on your exchange upload, which is what I think you meant, but it sounds as though it would still be related to a missing skin file somewhere. Your dcbackup file contains info on things to be included with uploads, which would include things like custom patterns and cc, so possibly if your dcbackup has been emptied that could be the problem. I did expect, though, that the sim would default to a regular game skin in that case.

Then you are correct to have used the SuperPatcher but you are on Patch 1.67 and not on 1.69. There is no Patch 1.69 without Origin, hence my confusion. :)
  • @igazor My game is all disc controlled. I have not even installed Origin on my PC!

The repairs on my PC is an SSD drive. I will test the families today

@suzses my TS3 username is smoogie. I forgot to prove the link! :D I will edit the link in here when I have got up!
  • Would a glitched household be glitched on the exchange? I’m no expert on the exchange, but unless the glitch is being caused be something other the the household, I would have to say, yes. Most likely the glitch would transfer to the exchange
  • I have ran a play test and redownloaded all four households and added them into a brand new save with no noticeable problems. No graphic glitches noticed with any individual Sims so fingers crossed I can play on without any issues
