Amjoie that made no sense to me as I often move graves over to the grave yard from houses - the only time I have seen a problem is if the ghost and tombstone is part of the story and should not be moved from that lot. There is a few in BB in the underground grave - but generally my game tells me that object is not moveable. Did you have moveobjects on or testingcheats on - as that might have allowed you to pick up one that needed to stay on the lot - I can't say for sure. I do know unless the tombstone belongs to that sim, do not keep it in their inventory otherwise it fouls up the ghost attached to it sometimes. But I will try and check the ghosts in some graveyards tomorrow just to make sure things are still working the same. It might even had been the update as updates have been known to create problems with ongoing games also. I will often start a new sim after and update to play a while until I feel the hood has settled down after changes. Usually then I can eventually go back to the familky I was working with - that way there seems less problems by introducing a new simmie.
I wasn't using cheats. When I first discovered the problem, I had the EA sim "pick up" the gravestone and put it in his inventory. It was an EA sim family member who had died. Then I clicked on the tombstone and used the "place tomb" command to put the tombstone in one of the locations made for them, opposite the tall tomb marker in the graveyard. I did that with, I think, three gravestones from different families.
I saved after placing each tombstone. Then, after the last one, I was in edit mode after saving, and decided to check on the graveyard to see how I could turn it into a "Home of the Ancestors" building. When I opened up the graveyard lot, the tombstones were gone. I found out later, after I tried the same thing in a new world, that the tombstones had gone back to the family inventory of the sim related to the ghost.
The tombstones stay in place, unless you open the graveyard lot from edit mode. It doesn't make any sense to me, either.
I did redo the graveyard, very carefully so as not to disturb anything. It is now the Honorable House of the Ancestor.

You can see the gravestone urns that I added yesterday, which are still there after I restarted the game, today. But I was careful not to open the lot in edit mode. So they are still safely on the lot.

I reset all the lights on the lot for white light. And they are all the correct white light, now. But at night ... you can see it is still the eerie green around the base of the lot. I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to get rid of that?

All this happened right before I installed Sweet Treats, so not the latest patch we just got. I should try it again, I suppose, now that I'm patched to the latest greatest.
