Take out all your mods. They have changed a lot and you never know what affects back. Once you have done so (and deleted your cache files), check your game and if the problem persists, report back
@sam123: You will need to click on that link (first DEP text is actually a link) and all will be explained to you. The files are that you know which extra files you need to add with gen.
@SilverSerpent: Ok. I'll check backwards to get your exact issue and add, if I haven't done so (it's kind of hard to keep all your reports in mind ;)). I know it was something with sims not doing much and maybe not going to work on their own.
