Well, this was not a fun way to start my game on my day off.
I loaded my saved game from last night and one of my Sims is no longer a part of the household. She was last night, you can see her in the Family Portrait associated with the save game, but she wasn't part of the family when I loaded the game. The last thing I did with her before saving last night was teach her all the Laser Rhythm-a-Tron songs and then shove her into the Stasis chamber. (I still have the save game if anyone wants to look at it. Just let me know where to send the zip file.)
I tried exporting the family to the Bin folder, and when I moved them into a brand new save, she was back in the family! But her inventory was empty. No Rhythm-a-Tron or laptop, which were the only items in her inventory after she used all the composition books.
Also, I can confirm that PlumBots don't keep their chips if you export them to the library. Now I have to rebuild all the chips they had. :( I fear that my Sentient PlumBot may have lost all the skills it learned via Limitless Learning, but I won't know until I reinstall all those chips. I'll update you on this issue once all that has been addressed.
EDIT: Yup. I just confirmed my fear. My Sentient PlumBot lost all the skill gains when the game removed the Limitless Learning chip upon exporting to the bin.
I'm going to clone my corrupt saved game and see if there isn't a way to salvage all those skills or not. If anyone wants to look at the corrupt saved game, again, please let me know and I'll send you a copy for you to dissect.
EDIT 2: I'm in a brand new game with the same family. I don't believe the family itself has corrupted data, so I imported them into a new Bridgeport game and sent them off to a random RH to get all of them off the lot so I can start building a new house for them with ITF stuff.
I was 'in the zone' of building when I realized I didn't save, so I went back into Live Mode and clicked the (...) button to pull up the menu. Nothing happened. I pressed F5 on my keyboard. Nothing happened.
This freaked me out. I ultimately was able to save via the "quit" cheat, but I honestly don't want to see if this bug is reproducible or not. I REALLY hope this bug isn't connected to my family that this one post is all about.
Again, brand new game, and all I did was wait for all those NPCs to arrive (University Llama and Emit) and then send them to a RH lot just to get them off the property to build. I was in Build Mode for two hours, three at the most.
