Hi 45rpm: I agree, if you have to use a mod to fix problems EA should have fixed months ago then it isn't your computer or the Mod, it's the game.
I'm on Week 8, day 2 and heading towards the dreaded week ten, when it all went to heck in previous games. So far, things are going well, hopefully due to all the "changes" I made in my town.
One thing I haven't done is sent any of my Sims on vacation since about week two so I might try and see what happens.
(PS - saw something about EA last night on CBC, it was a program about Hyper Parents/Coddled Children - children being the "gimme" generation - and it showed some of the employees that work at Electronic Arts in Vancouver - dress code jeans/grunge, bring
your dog to work, play games - literally - all day. No work ethic but a sense of entitlement. If the employees at other branches are the same, no wonder we can't get the game fixed!)
