But I wanted to add that I got a new computer and transferred all my files over this past weekend and I was amazed at my game.
I experienced something similar some years ago when I was playing Sims 2 on an old-ish PC laptop and then upgraded to an iMac. I could not believe my eyes! The game ran really slowly on the old laptop so of course it was much faster, but I'd also had no idea of the features I'd been missing out on entirely until I upgraded!
I play Sims 3 now on the same iMac, which means that it isn't brand new but it has been upgraded as far as it can go and is well-maintained (I live with a computer programmer so she knows what's what with such things). I'm sure some of the issues are the game rather than the machine, the errors and bugs that lots of people get, even those with high end computers. I sure hope so anyway - if super-computer specs are needed to run the game, then that's what EA should say on the box.
