I hope too that they fix the issues that make your sim kids go wrong, Andree. If you have a lot of time to play then it would be good if you at least had all the game's options available.
I try to avoid making sims like myself for fear of seeing weird things happen to them! Fortunately I'm not good enough in CAS to make one that resembles me precisely, and I'm not sure I can narrow myself down to just 5 traits. The one time I made a sim vaguely like me she ended up in the military career, which really would be strange for me, and had a really horrible house. I made my active sim take the architect career and sent him round to upgrade her bathroom!
They don't really look like me, and I think of the traits as nature and nurture. Some things will be brought out if one works hard on the skill. Just as with real life!
You don't have to be born a brilliant virtuoso in order to learn to play an instrument. You don't have to be gifted with a great eye for art to be able to paint and sculpt or be seemingly naturally inclined to cook well. One just has to practice, practice, practice.
I just wish all the parts worked right. I read an article about Steve Jobs chewing out people on a particular item that didn't right, he asked people what it was supposed to do. The employees responded. And he then asked "why doesn't it do that then?"
We have the same problem here. But no Steve Jobs to chew people out for making a product that doesn't work.
