I have reinstalled the game 4 times the long drawn out way and it never worked for me
Thats not saying you shouldnt give it a try I guess as it likely does work for some

I wish i knew when that patch was coming so I could remove that overwatch mod before
I dont know if it will cause problems if its still in there when it comes.
