I might move my ovewatch mod tomorrow out of the folders as I have a feeling
the patch is a coming but Im not sure it will do more then prepare the game
for the next addon. I cant wait to see what happens with me not having it
as it deleted about 120 cars every time I play.
Hi 45, hope you're having a good weekend. I think I encountered the pile-up-outside-school problem because a load of the sim families in town produced offspring, so there were suddenly quite a lot of extra children trying to be schooled. I figured that putting in a second school was a good idea and it worked a treat. The game assigns the kids to their most 'local' school so it also adds a nice bit of variety (I put in two different types of school).
I think that Twallan is going to update his mods pretty quickly. He must devote so much of his time to supporting them! So I've decided that I'll just wait until he updates Overwatch before I download the new patch. This is because I don't feel confident that my game will be playable without Overwatch, especially since this patch is likely just to be updating the game to handle Generations and may not contain many bug fixes, if any. Seeing as I don't usually play during the week as I'm at work, it won't affect me if I wait a while.
Added a bit later: I have been reading on this site and elsewhere about a few people who got hold of the leaked patch - for example Crinrict has it I think - and I read that someone tried Overwatch with it and the mod was still deleting bunches of stray cars - so we will definitely still want Overwatch to keep conrol fo the exponentially growing sim-car heap. I wonder how the patch got leaked..... maybe EA are as dependent on hackers to fix their game as the players are these days, so they leaked it to allow updates to start early? I have become so cynical.
