now im assuming this is in one of the starter towns and now a town you got from the exchange (offten those towns crash and dont work right)
try going into -edit town- mode and click on the school lot. click on the button that sets the lot type and change it.
if this doesnt work then bulldose the lot. Place a new lot size where it used to be and go to -Build/buy on the lot-
from there go to Build and click on commun ity objects. There you will find a few schools from different towns (depending on what EPs you have) place one on the lot and save it. make sure to set that lot type as well. you dont have to put any fancy stuff around it you can do that later once you know it works.
