Re: Deleting an object.

@VJCochell1728  An Origin update shouldn't have anything to do with Sims 3.  (If you're playing Sims 4, please say so, and this thread can be moved to the appropriate TS4 board.)

What happens if you pick up the object and move it?  Can you delete it by dragging it to the bottom of the screen and clicking?  If it can't be deleted at all, you can try using cheats instead.  Bring up the cheat console, enter "moveobjects on" without quotes, and then try to delete it again.  (Be sure to turn off the cheat with "moveobjects off" as soon as you're done—leaving it on can corrupt your game.)  If moveobjects doesn't help, enter "testingcheatsenabled true" and shift-click on the fridge.  (Enter "testingcheatsenabled false" to turn it off.)

If you can delete the fridge by dragging and clicking but not with the delete key, try deleting the five cache files in your TS3 game folder in Documents.  For reference, they are:

  • CASPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package

They're safe to delete and will regenerate the next time you launch the game; clearing them will help get rid of old, useless data.
