Re: How to turn off Wonderland moodlet?

@Sunny_Rio  It's simple enough to get rid of a moodlet.  Bring up the cheats console (ctrl-shift-C) and enter "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes.  Then crtl-click on the moodlet you want gone.  Be sure to disable the cheat (testingcheatsenabled false) when you're done.

Hopefully this will also reset the sim's walkstyle.  But if not, that can be harder to fix.  Let me know whether your sim is in the future or in his homeworld, and whether you use mods or are willing to install one at least temporarily.

Thanks, that worked!  He's now walking normally.  I didn't realise you could cancel moodlets that easily.

I don't suppose you know how I could stop it permanently for the unplayed Sims too (in the future)?  I'm happy to install a mod (already using quite a few in fact).

@Sunny_Rio  I don't know how to prevent the moodlet from appearing entirely, since I'm not sure what causes it.   To remove a moodlet from an unplayed sim, you can use NRaas MasterController; you'd also need the MC Cheats add-on.  Click on the affected sim and select NRaas > MasterController > Intermediate > Moodlets > Remove Moodlet, and select Wonderland from the list.  You could also run this on batches of sims by clicking on City Hall and selecting NRaas > MC > Sim > Intermediate etc. and choosing the sims you want.

If the moodlet is caused by being in the future or some other recurring state though, they'll just get it back.  There may be a way to disallow a specific moodlet entirely, but I'm not sure.  The best place to ask would be on the NRaas site, in Chatterbox; there are a number of players who are happy to answer questions on that site.

The mod that fixes a broken walkstyle is NRaas DebugEnabler, but that's only necessary if removing the moodlet doesn't do the trick.  (I guess it might help if the Wonderland moodlet is permanent, since the walkstyle might not be reapplied if the moodlet isn't also reapplied, but I haven't tried in a situation like that.)  On a sim, choose NRaas > DE > Options: Smartphone > Reset Walk.  You can also run the command via City Hall.  Be careful with some of the DE commands though: they're EA's built-in debug commands, and not all of them have been tested and proven safe for regular use.

I've installed Master Controller, MC cheats, and DE, but neither of the suggestions seems to take effect.  I spotted a woman walking past my house with the weird walk, removed her wonderland moodlet (which was successfull, because trying again it isn't there), and reset her walk, but she continued to prance about.  Worked fine on my own Sim though!

@Sunny_Rio  Then I'm not sure what would work, sorry.  It might have to do with their Future Sim hidden trait (not a good idea to remove it unless you plan on quitting without saving), it might respond to evicting the sims and moving them back in, it might only take clearing the cache and reloading... this isn't something I've experimented with at all.  At least your own sim is cooperating though.

You could still ask at NRaas—maybe someone there knows of another mod that would help.

@Sunny_Rio There is a mod I found at MTS called "Running Disease Hotfix" that has helped me clear other types of "stuck" walk-styles so you might want to look into that one.

Tried it, didn't work.  I couldn't get the menu to appear on a Sim which wasn't my own.  I don't think the every 20 minutes auto reset will be much use either, as it won't take long for one to get stoned again from social interaction.

What stuck styles were you getting?  All I've ever had is a Sim with a plate stuck to his hand that he was previously carrying.  He does all other activities pretending the plate isn't there.

@Sunny_Rio I used it a few times to fix the running bug where my Sims got stuck in a running walk-style (really annoying). There are comments on the MTS page for this mod where other players mention using it to fix various other stuck walk-styles as well.

The main thing I use this mod for is to set a preferred walk-style for my Sims. I like the slow casual walk animation vs the strident marching look of the fast walk animation my Sims would normally get when walking a long distance.

I don't have the Into the Future EP so I can't test on that specific walk-style but I will load my game later today & see if I can open the 2BTech menu options on an NPC.

Ah, never had mine run when they're walking.

I wasn't aware there was more than one walk.  I have Sims 4 also (although I prefer Sims 3) and that has many different walk styles.

The future EP is one of the best ones to get, it's a real game changer, just like seasons.

I haven't tried the mod in the non-future part of the world, as I don't want to go back in time incase I upset the future, where I've bought him 4 parrots.  Apparently pets can't time travel?

@Sunny_Rio OK so I just checked and if I enable testingcheats I can open the 2BTech menu options on any NPC/townie Sim just by clicking on them (not shift+click). There are options to "clear walkstyles" (plus a lot of other things) but I don't know if it will work for the Into The Future EP. I was pretty sure I had done this before on various NPC/townies in my games but it's been several months since I've regularly played Sims 3 so I wanted to go back and check again.

The walk styles I am referring to are not like the ones in Sims 4 that can change with moods or are selected in CAS, I mean when your Sim walks slowly when routing to a short distance away vs walking fast when routing to a greater distance. I like the animation for the slow walk so I select that as the default for my Sims regardless of how far they are walking to. My most recent save was in Monte Vista so a slow, casual walk-style seems more appropriate for there anyway xD

@Sunny_Rio  You could try adding NRaas Traveler and setting it to allow pets to travel.  That might let your sim bring the parrots home.  But I haven't tried it, so  I don't know whether it works with future travel the way it does with World Adventures or University.  Click on City Hall and select NRaas > Traveler > Allowable Travelers.

Oh those, yes I've seen my Sim walk home instead of running, I thought it was because he was tired after spending the afternoon fishing.  Sometimes if I want him home in a hurry, stopping the routing command and telling him to go home again seemed to change it into a run.

Don't you find making them walk instead of run takes too long?  Mind you, I banned traffic with the NRAAS traffic mod, so they had to cover long distances.

I just tried again, and yes the 2BTech menu appears on NPCs, but nothing takes effect.   Firstly, it won't accept a command if they're routing (which most Sims usually are!)  And even when I waited until one wasn't routing, the silly walk remained after I tried "clear", and set to "walk".

Added NRAAS traveller, allowed anyone to travel (what was the point in prohibiting anything?), picked up parrots (in the Sims pockets?  Mind you they can carry whole cars....), travelled back in time and had the pets with me.  Bought them new perches and they're fine.
