I hope not try this quit the game if your still playing do not save then go to the electronicsarts/thesims3/saves folder then find your save game whatever you named it for example my save is SSV1.sims3 the back up is SSV1.sims.backup i move the saved game  SSV1.sims3 folder to the desktop then rename the back up save SSV1.sims.backup by right click on the folder rename and very carefully remove the .backup hit enter then launching the game and starting the save I renamed try renaming the back up and see what happens

do you have any saves games from the family at all even when the teens were still kids ? it will mean going back to that game and continuing on from there until they are teens again

  • I did save a game when they were younger but I don't think I can get that back since I saved the game again when they were teens. Also which file do I rename again was it the saved game or the back up one and what do I put there instead.

-Thanks for the help by the way I really appreciate it cause i'm new at this.

@AlexxasUriah  the one that has the .backup the file will have what ever your save named game is with .sims3.backup so you carefully remove the .backup

image guide the blue arrow is my save the red the back up the blue arrow one I move to the desktop  the red arrow one I right click rename and carefully back space out .backup  hit enter

you'll learn a lot about this game and what to do in most cases ,just a general game playing tip   save the game in cycles of five for example if your playing for a couple of hours then every so often  save as new name it can be as simple as adding a 1,2,3,4,5, to the game name like one of infamous saves as is SSV1 then the next is SSV2 then SSV3 this gives you back up saves to fall back on should something go wrong then when I am done playing for the evening I go to the saves folder and delete the earlier saves except the last two good saves which may be 4 and 5 then I copy those to thumb drive as more back ups
