Re: .package cc files not showing up in-game

@Nonkie7402  Are the .package files inside Mods/Packages, and is there a resource.cfg in the Mods folder?  Have you deleted the five cache files from your Sims 3 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts?  They should be deleted any time you add or remove content from your game.  For reference, they are:

  • CASPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package

If you've done all this and the .package files still aren't showing, please move the Mods folder out of the Sims 3 folder, recreate the setup or download a new Mods Framework from Mod the Sims, place just one .package file inside the Packages folder, delete the cache files again, and test in-game.  Let me know whether it works.

@puzzlezaddict thank you very much for this response, I did this, so I removed my mods folder, downloaded the modthesims wiki mods folder that includes nointro and whatnot, deleted all the cache files and there was no intro which im assuming means the package file worked as intended. Thank you very much for your help.

Hi, none of those cache files were ever in my Sims 3 file to begin with and never have, yet my .package files still aren't showing up. I downloaded and installed them correctly. I extracted them into the mods/packages file and yet they still are not appearing in game. I repeated the entire process, searched for the cache files, the cache files still don't exist and the package files still aren't working.

@Jossph117  Please post a screenshot of your Packages folder, with the address bar (above the list of files and folders) showing as well.

@577ua15qbszd  That looks fine, I mean your Packages folder doesn't need the installation guides or the .png file in your screenshot, but they're not doing any harm either.  Have you deleted the five cache files in your Sims 3 folder since the last time you added custom content?  If not, please do so now—they should be deleted any time you add or remove content from your user folder.

    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

If that doesn't help, make a list of the cc files that aren't showing up and test them individually.  Move the entire Packages folder to the desktop, create a new one, and move over just one file that isn't working.  Delete the cache files (again), load a save, and see whether you can find the file.  If you can't, list it for me and I'll test it in-game myself: it's always possible that the item is broken and won't work for anyone.  It's also possible that the file requires a pack you don't own, so please list the ones you currently have installed.

When testing, you can start a new save instead of loading your existing ones if you prefer.

@puzzlezaddict Hi! For this "Mods folder", do i just create that myself? There is no "Mods" within my Sims 3 file/folder. Thank you.

So I've seen that you helped alot of people.. So I hope you can help me too. I've already tried everything on here, on all the "help" websites, youtube videos and all. But NOTHING is working... I don't know what I do wrong... It worked before, but not after i downloaded the game again.

(Tried removing the 4 files, new mod map and only one CC, graphic card stuff, and more)

@Fraulein02  Please post a screenshot of the folder that contains the mods, as in, I'd like to see a list of the mods themselves.  Include the address bar in the screenshot as well.

And please let me know what patch number you see in the launcher's lower-left corner.
