Re: Problem with installing the content bought in Shop

@saraholsen93 Origin by default downloads the game installer to the system drive (normally c🙂 then installs the game to to a default location on the system drive (normally c🙂. You can change the default install location in the Origin configuration which changes troubleshooting. Items from the store will download to user data folder which is located in the (system drive)/users/(user)/documents/(game folder) and the location can only be moved at the operating system level and this will only work if the game uses operating system calls. If the game coding does direct calls bypassing the operating system it will probably fail (more then likely). Unless you are an advanced user I do not recommend using advance techniques such as symbolic link. You can see how changing from a normal install makes long distant troubleshooting that much harder. I'm guessing you have a small ssd for a system drive (another thing I don't recommend). It should not matter where the game download folder is as long as the game knows where it is. The items in the download folder can be managed by the downloads tab in the launcher. Are you bypassing the launcher to start the game?

Ive chosen in the Origin app to download everything on D, and I thought sims would have everything in those files on D. I dont really know what bypassing the launcher means, so I would say Im not bypassing it. I installed the game for the second time after I lost the family and when I downloaded the stuff from shop it was there. I closed the game when I went to sleep and now in the launcher you can see the list I can download and install, but when I install it doesnt show up in the installed list. Which means most likely its gone when I launch the game and start the new family. I just dont understand that even when it can show me where the files are, it wont let it be installed. The lack of storage space in my main drive was an accident when I chose what to have in my computer.

Now I looked at the list that shows up after an install. It says it failed to install due to not the newest update or something. Like I dont have the newest update of the game and thats causing the install to fail.

This is just awkward, haha. Seems I just had to update the game, all along... Oh well, thanks for the help anyways.

    Happy New year!
