Hi fantasitree,

That sounds as if your disc drive is not functioning correctly anymore. You should consider getting a new one.

The good news is that you don't need your discs to play the game. Please register the game and all expansions here:

www.thesims3.com

After that install the Origin client. You can get it from here:

http://www.origin.com/download

Use the same email and password for both The Sims 3 Website and the Origin client. Your games should now show up in your Orgin client where you can download and install them.
