Re: Sim won't go to work

This bug is usually due to a corrupt work outfit.

Take your Sim to the dresser and give her a new work outfit. If the Sim already has more than one, delete the extra ones instead.

That doesn't work for me ☹️ my sim won't go to work (he only has one default career outift), the icon just disappears. When I click Plan Outfit on the dresser to try and change his outfit like you suggested, it just gets stuck on the loading screen, please help!!

  • My teen and child sims won't go to school, every time I try, either the icon doesn't show up or the game crashes.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!  YOU LIKE JUST SAVED MY SIMS REPUTATION ANDROID CAREER ANDROID LIFE!!!!!!!!

  • Just had to add my thanks.  After playing The Sims 4 like a fiend since August, I missed the horses, etc. in 3.  I started playing it again a few days ago and I am so delighted to re-discover its richness and variety.  I even added a new-to-me EP -- University.

Anyway, I had a Sim who had worked through a business degree, but would not go to work no matter what job I tried (not professions).  When I read your advice it sounded like a surely bug was causing that (that it should not work that way) but I tried it, dressing her as an elementary schoolteacher just before she was due to leave for work.  Presto!  She finally went right to work.  Thanks again!!!

I have a question... it's similar to sonigirl13's question. The work outfit is corrupted but I can't fix it cause the whole button is gone.
  • I was having the same issue with the career outfit not being there to remove. So what I did was Change Outfit without the dresser and the career option was there and then I went back to Plan Outfit and was able to remove it.

@joythetomato  Could you please describe in more detail what the issue is with your game?  Normally, you add an outfit by directing your sim to Plan Outfit using a dresser.

  • Hey, my sims are actors so they dont have a set costume is there anyway I can do this too? My sims have scheduled work days they just dont go to work and the gigs never go away.

  • I've tried the corrupt outfit process but when I try to edit her career outfit I'm stuck in the loading screen for a very long time.

    Hi folks,

This thread is a bit of an oldie and the latest posts aren't necessarily the same as the original issue. It's best to make a new thread in this cases for your issue and include any information you feel is relevant in your opening posts. Please go ahead and create that thread. I'll lock this in the meantime.

    Thanks,
