Re: Sims 3 Crashes Upon Loading
@anyawaltz Sims 3 crash logs are, unfortunately, mostly useless, and that's the case here. The log only shows that the game crashed, not why. But the fact that you can't install items through the launcher either points to a possible issue with your installed content, most likely the last item(s) you installed. So as a possible shortcut, please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > DCCache, find the highest-numbered file that ends in .dbc, and move it to the desktop. (Ignore the .ebc files, which are store content.) These files are numbered, in order of creation, starting with zero, for example dcdb0, dcdb1, etc. So moving the highest-numbered one removes the most recently-installed cc items.
If this works, you'll need to reinstall a handful of items; the exact number will depend on how large the bundle is. But please keep in mind that the most recent item(s) you installed may be corrupt, so either avoid them all or test them separately in another Sims 3 folder.
If removing the newest .dbc file doesn't help, the place to start is with a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
If the game crashes or doesn't load even in the new folder, please stop here, and also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

If you can play, you can move your saves and other content from the old Sims 3 folder to the new one. Test your mods and custom content first, and leave your saves for last, when you know everything else is working. Here's a description of everything in your user folder:

Where the game creates a new file, it's best to use that file rather than your old one. So only move over data that doesn't get recreated, like saves or saved households and builds.
