I tried this but when i got the the electronic arts folder there is only “EA Core” and “EADM”. When i scroll down there is a sims > sims 3 but no folder for pets and in the sims 3 there is only “DLCs” and “InstallOptSelect” please help, you seem to know what you’re doing

Turns out i needed to install it on steam in order to see the sims 3 (steam) folder but there is nothing under either sims 3 or sims 3 pets

@DrunkenDuck83  Right, the registry keys are only placed when you install a program.  Did you actually install Pets as well?  Could you please take a screenshot or two of the registry entries you're seeing?  I'd like to compare them to mine.  Don't include any actual product codes, but if the info doesn't have product codes, it would be useful to see the entries you do have.

@pcsandstormvader  This is a side effect of how EA and Steam decided to handle older games, and there's unfortunately no way to get a CD key from Steam.  However, you can ask for help from EA customer support.

If you provide proof of purchase from Steam, an EA support rep may be able to add the game to your Origin library.

Yes! I just installed it and followed all the steps, but the code did not show up. It said "value not set".

But once I played it, the Code showed up 🙂 

@darkaudit and @braulyoko  When did you buy Sims 3 from Steam?   I'm curious whether it was before or after Steam started removing CD keys for Sims 3 and other EA games.

@darkauditI think they put it back again, not sure if it was due to they don't want to be bothered by people asking keys again. After EA play and before this, the code were show as %CDKEY% and nowhere to be found (My base game key is, not sure about pets). So it is available again now. My base game key is also visible again. 

@puzzlezaddict Hi! I bought it (TS3 Collection) on the 24th and the only code that didn't show up on steam was the Pets EP. I messaged the Steam Team and they said they didn't have the code for TS3 Pets 😒

@braulyokoPlease download the game and launch it at least once, and hit win+R, type "regedit", hit enter and follow below path as the accepted solution:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > WOW6432Node > Electronic Arts > Sims(Steam) > The Sims 3 Pets > ergc

@darkaudit @braulyoko and @fantuanss  Thanks for the updated info.  I guess Steam and EA worked out the issues with how to handle product keys and never told anyone.  Steam should definitely have keys for Pets though.  But if Steam support isn't being helpful on that front, @braulyoko you should be able to contact EA customer support with your purchase info and get Pets added to your Origin account.

@LonelyOtaku78  That is incorrect; people have been asking for Sims 3 to be added to Origin for over a year now and (mostly) had success.  I have the posts to prove it.

If you'd like, you can contact support again in the hopes that the next person you talk to is more helpful.  Or you can try launching the game and looking for the code in the registry, as has been mentioned in this thread.

I contacted with an advisor of EA HELP but she said that I have to contact to Steam to request my key for The Sims 3. Is it really the only way ? @MusaTeksoy  Please launch Sims 3 at least once, then look in your computer's registry for the base game key.  Use the instructions posted here:
