Sims 3 screen frozen after update in 2025

Hi, I should've made this post last year, but after the recent update for sims 3 I load up my game and everything loads fine, but the screen freezes. This doesn't happen with the other games, and the game still continues to work in the background. I just can't move my mouse and see where it's going or control the game. I'm on windows so I'm not sure if it's my laptop or something else. If someone can help me figure this out, or knows a fix for it please let me know!

    lbpurple​  When in the loading process does the screen freeze?  If you've already loaded the save when it happens, does a new save work better?

    Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    Hey, sorry for the late reply back and thanks for replying, it happens when I load the game. As soon as it opens its frozen on where you would pick which save file you want to play.

    lbpurple​  Try launching the game in windowed mode.  Open Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).

    If that doesn't help, I do need to see a dxdiag.
