@glitterglich My gaming computer is an upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro with a 1Tb WD black drive and runs TS3 without issues. I don't know why ASUS chooses to build laptops like that. The problem is your operating system and not the game. All you need to do is have the 2Tb drive repartitioned. I encourage you to talk to someone (preferably a professional).
@roberta591 Well I tried repairing the game again and it does open now, but my family is now crashing every few minutes. And I want that to stop so do you know any other ways of how I could resolve that, besides making more space on my drive.
@glitterglich If you start a new game does the game play? Once a save game has problems usually the only way to save it is to roll back the saves until it plays.
@roberta591Yes it does, it actually crashed while opening C.A.S
@glitterglich Usually if the game starts but crashes in CAS that is usually (but not always) caused by bad user data. Try the reset to factory - link - reset to factory If the game works after you reset then the game itself is ok and the user data has issues.
@roberta591 Yep, just tried that and it stil crashes 30 seconds in. Same with the launcher.
@glitterglich At this point we are back to where we started. If the game in its basic configuration does not run and the game does run under Windows 10 and your computer hardware should run TS3 then you have to look at the way your computer is configured. There should be plenty of clues in the Windows logs that can be read with the event viewer. I have repair so many computers that have a 128Gb ssd by replacing the ssd with a 1Tb drive and all the problems go away. Again your computer needs to be put on the workbench and the logs need to be looked at. Could be a defective memory module (possible) but I don't think so as other programs don't seem to be affected. Bad power brick (possible) but again does not seem to affect other programs. Overheating (possible) but again doesn't seem to happen with other programs. The hardware should run TS3. We are back to the way the hard drive is partitioned which is VERY unusual. Here I restate that the casual Windows user can NOT run the Windows operating system in 128Gb of storage. Especially TS3. The game creates a multitude of large files while performing its duties - ie traveling - the old location is saved in a temp location to be restored when you return. There are many such actions that occur through the course of the game. As the TS3 game engine is unique to EA and proprietary to EA, it is impossible to know how the game does its magic. TS3 is a unique game that is coded different from other games. Don't take my word for it. I encourage you to talk to someone. Preferably a experienced gamer and not a big box store.

@glitterglich That is telling you that the operating system is denying you access to that memory location. Some people claimed that adding TS3 and installed packs to the DEP table solved this issue SOME of the time. You can find where DEP is in Windows 10 at:
- control panel
- system
- advanced system settings
- advanced
- performance
- data execution prevention
- turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select
you have to manually add the executables manually with the add button.
the base game is TS3W.exe and may be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin if installed with disc or look under c:\program files (x86)\Origin games\the sims 3\game\bin if installed from Origin OR you may have to look where you installed the game to an alternate location.
I have never had to use DEP. IMO DEP only masks the issue by letting the code crash and recover and continue executing.
It wouldn't hurt to try.
@roberta591 Yes I have tried that and it worked, my game didnt crash but I couldnt find the right file for the sims 3 seasons (which I installed from origin) I have all them set in DEP except that expansion. The right application isnt in my origingames file (its empty). So do you know where it is? I have looked through my whole computer before, looking for it but I couldnt find it.
@roberta591 The weird thing is, everytime I role back my families saves. It works. Then if i save it again, it crashes during loadup. I thought it might have been because of the eyeliner cc I downloaded, since this is what started the problem. But even after uninstalling it and resetting my settings, it still crashes during the loading screen. Not sure if this helps anything, just thought id mention it while im looking for the DEP file.
@glitterglich You have to get the base game in a stable condition. You said you tried the factory reset and the game still crashes. That means you have a user data issue or a computer issue. At that point your game should have been like when you installed it. You need to get your game to a point you can start a new game - save the game - and load that save game (not an old save game because that may contain bad data). You said you tried a factory reset (there should be no cc/mods, no save games, no user data at all) and the game still crashes. You have to troubleshoot that first before you try your old save games.
@roberta591 It doesnt crash if i dont have any of my CC or mods, but it was fine for the last year meaning my new cc was the problem. But even if I add my regular mods and CC and take out the new cc it still crashes. I need the rest of my custom content, but if I do it crashes and for no reason because the problem cc has been removed. When I opened the game it did say Unrecognizable video card though so maybe that has something to do with it.
@glitterglich The video card issue may be a problem but the game should not crash. It is possible that the new cc conflicts with some old cc and then was saved so that problem will stay with the save game. If you still have ALL the cc installed even rolling back save game may not remove the issue. Remove ALL the cc/mods. If the game is stable then add SOME cc/mods and see if the game is stable. Keep adding a little at a time until the game is unstable then remove the last that you added and one at a time add until the game again becomes unstable. That is how you find bad cc. Again it is possible that two cc's are in conflict. Adding one or the other may allow the game to play but together the game will crash.
@roberta591 Yep, thank you for the suggestion I finally figured it out after going through all of my cc one at a time. The new stuff wasnt the problem, it was an old sweater. Thats been making my game crash for years! And it was hidden too, it only crashed when I put it on a sim so this was all a misunderstanding. As for my other nraas game, the crashing has stopped because that sim was wearing it too! XD But as for the ultra freeze, I dont think it will be fixed, and the nraas mod will probably never work out. But im satisfied with where my game is now, thank you for putting up with me and trying to help.
