It's never happened before, yes, and my computer is still fairly new (about 2 months since I bought it), and I know the specs are capable of running the game. I only have a couple Store items, and no mods because I don't know too much about them.
But it did work on that specific computer ?

Yes, the game ran fine before I noticed the problem.
So I had a friend check this out and she says, that she can duplicate your issue if she ages the Sim up in CAS.
Meaning, create a child Sim in CAS and then switch to teen in CAS.
It didn't happen for her if she age the Sim up in the game.
Can you verify for me where you aged them up ? In CAS or in live mode ?
It happened while I was still in CAS. I was just trying to check and make sure the voices would be the same when the Sim aged up in the game, and that's when I noticed it wasn't saving the voice I had it set to, and reverting itself back to the default voice.
Could you try if it works if you age them up in game ?
Did you check it in CAS before and it was working ?
